Waghlons note: Not a very well written stage report i admit
Tour of Qinghai Lake 2009 - Stage 2
Today is a stage about going up hill a bit, and a bit on a flat road. And then a finish.
... perhaps i can make a small stage report with only four pictures as well...
Gallardo, Flickinger and Magalhães. Pretty ordinary.
...
And then another seven riders attacked and then things went confusing.
Okay, in E1 we have eleven riders. Right behind them we have another two laggards. Everyone except for B&O and White Bear Steyr appears to be represented in the break.
E1: Marco Bos, Gallardo, Magalhaes, Guillen, Brolin, Flickinger, Sibila Romero, Wolf, Panayotov, Gonzalo, Iannatti
E2: Vitor, Andrle.
With 6 kilometers to the first KoM sprint of the race, and on the steepest section of the climb, Bos and Gallardo are dropped as the break starts pacing.
We are reduced to seven as Gonzalo takes the first KoM sprint and will be in the jersey tommorow.
1 Gonzalo 16 2 Panayotov 12 3 Wolf 10 4 Flickinger 8 5 Sibila Romero 6 6 M. Ianneti 4 7 Brolin 2
Behind us the pack has been reduced to 50 riders, but noone important is lost.
The break flies through the point sprint with Guillén (White Bear Steyr) taking it. I dont even remember him being in the break.
With 19 kilometers to go, the break will surely win. The six riders remaining are:
Guillén (White Bear Steyr) - 79 SP, 80 ACC
Flickinger (Gatorade) - 71 SP, 74 ACC
Wolf (Slipstream B)
Ianetti (Nippo)
Sibila Romero (Dasani) - 70 ACC
Panayotov (Pearl Jam) - 71 ACC
Guillén wins. Was there any doubt?
Stage results:
Hurray crashed before i could export results or take sceenshots. Through math we have come up with top 10. Thanks a lot Cyanide.
1 Guillén 2 Flickinger s.t 3 Sibila Romero s.t 4 Wolf s.t 5 Iannetti s.t 6 Panayotov s.t 7 Gonzalo + 2 minutes-ish 8 Sohrabi + 3 minutes-ish 9 Corioni s.t 10 Perez Arrieta s.t
Points jersey: Now in the hands of Marco Guillén from White Bear Steyr with 10 points down to Arrieta.
KoM:
1 Gonzalo 16 2 Panayotov 12 3 Wolf 10 4 Flickinger 8 5 Sibila Romero 6 6 M. Ianneti 4 7 Brolin 2
Terribly sorry for the inconvinience, lets hope stage 3 will work.
