There will be tasks that can be worked on directly and other stuff, that is usually worked on in offseason. For both I will need the support of some of you.
Some managers already helped out a lot in the offseason and organizing but some more support would be great.
1) Rankings. I already asked for it on Skype and got 1-2 responses but also myself started to forget about it. The "monthly" ranking updates aren`t that hard to do and basically need some excel only. 99% is copy & paste.
Obviously could come at any time soon and regular.
2) Offseason: Not only about the regular support stuff such as looking for profiles, helping out here and there but also other excel based stuff, e.g. updating the yearly excel stuff from one season to another, helping out with renewals, new riders, race planning.
So lots of stuff that keeps me busy for 1 month non stop in the offseason must be carried by more shoulders.
It usually is enough to have "basic" excel skills and a lot is copy&paste anyway. |

Hi
I could have a crack at the rankings. I tend to have very busy and not so busy periods so don't want to overpromise but will do my best

I have picked up the rankings, but there are a few races that doesn't work with the new modified program.
Can anyone help me create points for these races:
Olympia's Tour
Giro del Trentino
Tour of Vancouver
Monterrey TTT
The sooner the better, as those are what need to be completed in order to get the CT and PCT rankings done

Monterrey is a one-day-race, so the program can't be used. I can't help you with that one, sorry - don't know how it was usually done.
All others contain a TTT, as far as I remember the profiles. The convention with the reporters is (or was, when I reported as well) to name all the stage result files S[StageNumber].xls, and the TTT results S[StageNumber]_TTT.xls. The TTT suffix is just an information for the person who runs the tool, so you have to remove _TTT from the file name and remember the stage number of the TTT. The tool will then ask you if there was a TTT stage, and you just have to enter the stage number.
Hope it helps, else just PM me!
PS: Just saw on the FTP that this should work for Olympia (TTT stage 4) and Vancouver (TTT stage 7), but for Trentino the stages don't have the correct names yet. Hope you can figure out which one was S1, S2 and S3, and iirc S1 was a TTT. You'll have to rename the stages, as the tool needs the S[StageNumber] format.

I have renamed the stages correctly on my laptop, and those mentioned doesn’t work. I have other races with TTTs with no problem.
I basically need someone who Can hand me the points rankings in correct format, and my time is very limited until monday, so I hope someone Can do those races for me.

OK, I'll try to take a look at the files tonight, but can't promise I'll have enough time. Should work by Saturday at latest, though.
Might also try to make the tool more robust, so it could handle modified files, but iirc this isn't possible in every case.
As I said before, can't help you for Monterrey, as it was a one-day-race and I don't know how points are calculated for those. Hopefully roturn can help with this one.

Thanks mate
Monterrey is in the Point Scale file. They are calculated like this
Points awarded to the first 5 finishers on each team
Position | Monterrey TTT | 1 | 20 | 2 | 13 | 3 | 10 | 4 | 9 | 5 | 8 | 6 | 7 | 7 | 6 | 8 | 5 | 9 | 4 | 10 | 4 | 11 | 3 | 12 | 3 | 13 | 2 | 14 | 2 | 15 | 1 | 16 | 1 | 17 | | 18 | | 19 | | 20 | | 21 | | 22 | |

Sorry, I wasn't precise enough. I know the point scales, but I don't know if roturn usually just added those points manually, or if he does have an Excel file for this. The other tool is for stage races only.
Btw, I found the reason why it doesn't work for Olympia's Tour and Vancouver: PCM is dumb
More precisely, given that there was just 1 rider in the control team, PCM is unable to correctly compute the team standings after a TTT. After road stages, teams with less than 3 riders are just ignored, but there's an issue with TTTs. So the control team now is 1st, and the times don't work at all.
I'll try to fix those files by hand, run the tool and just upload the generated points file to the FTP. I'll try to handle that as well in the tool, but that's definitely not an obvious thing.
@Reporters: Please keep all 3 riders in the race if there's a TTT. Or can anyone confirm that TTTs still work if you abandon the race with all of them? All other stages did work with PCM18, but I'm not sure about TTTs. And can't say anything about PCM20.
However, didn't see yet why Trentino wouldn't work, will investigate this one later/tomorrow.

Nevermind with Monterrey. Just created the file myself manually by copy pasting results and writing points. Took 5 minutes.

Sounds great
I'll be offline from 12:00 British Time tomorrow and until Monday, so if you can do it before 11:00 I can have the points ready to hand over to Ivan, so he can write the rankings during the weekend.
If not, we'll just wait until after the weekend

OK, for Trentino we had manually created results for S3, therefore values in a few columns missing.
In the end, I was able to generate the points files for all three stage races, you find them on the FTP.
However, I just noticed that your points scale for Monterrey is probably not correct; the one in the points scales file was created when it was a C1 race, but this year it was C2HC. So you should take the one we used for Vilnius - unfortunately it isn't included.
@roturn could you provide that one? I guess it was something like 14 points for the winner, 11 for the 2nd and so on...

Just missing Osterreich, Olympia and Vancouver.

I managed to create the final stage file (that was missing) from Osterreich, and that seems to work.
So just Olympia and Vancouver missing

The info was probably too well hidden - they are already there
