Unlike yesterday's stage, this one should suit the pure sprinters a bit better as the only bumps in this circuit in and around Frauenfeld are Cat 3 and the run into the finish is flat.
It's back to a similar favourites list to that from Stage 2. Houle will have his eyes on a stage win after it was taken from under his nose yesterday.
A familiar face in Van Hooydonck is out on the attack and wins the first KOM sprint. The breakaway still looking to establish itself for today's stage.
125km still remaining in the stage but we now have today's breakaway of only 3 riders and their gap is currently 2'35. Van Hooydonck is joined by Kastrantas and Elosegui.
Intermediate sprint 1 or 3 with 109km to go. Van Hooydonck wins it. Their gap now 2'53.
It's a comfortable win at the 2nd KOM for Kastrantas who is by far the best of these 3 when going uphill.
It's close at the 2nd intermediate sprint but Kastrantas takes it.
The Greek clearly kept enough in the tank as he wins the KOM shortly after as well. Van Hooydonck's 2nd takes him into the KOM lead and he should be wearing the jersey tomorrow. 3'00 with 64kms to go.
The high speed in the Peloton has the gap down to 1'08 with 32km remaining and some riders really on the verge of being caught out.
Van Hooydonck wins the final intermediate sprint of the day.
Kastrantas wins the final KOM of the day. Van Hooydonck dropped by these 2 and swept up by the Peloton who are within a minute now with 24km to the finish.
It was a valiant fight from Kastrantas but he is caught by the Amaysim led Peloton with 12km to go.
Some riders definitely being caught out and will lose time but none of the GC favourites here. Some sprinters such as Cavendish and Stepniak are here though so don't expect them to be participating in the sprint today.
3km to go now and Fraile is the one driving the Peloton onwards. It's a pretty windy run in to the finish so it's not going to be the most orthodox sprint.
Cullaigh still has 2 team mates in front of him with 2km to go. He then has Van Poppel, Enger, Banaszek and Aregger in behind him. Santos and Houle quite a bit further back.
Under the kite and the sprint is launched by Banaszek and Aregger. Riabushenko and Boudat now in and amongst the action too.
400m to go and the windy nature of the road making it very difficult to pass as it's still Banaszek and Aregger in the lead!
The local knowledge going into the final bend benefited Aregger as he takes the win and upsets the big guns! Banaszek is 2nd.
Cullaigh and Van Poppel are 3rd and 4th.
The Peloton is only 136 riders in the end. A number of riders lose 2'39 while more riders are even further behind.
Andersen still in the GC lead.
Cullaigh does now lead the Points.
Van Hooydonck leads the KOM.
Banaszek's consistency in the sprints means he now leads the U25s.
