The second European qualifier will bring the other European nations into action. Again, the nations with the first 12 finishers will make it through.
De Bie, Sagan, Herklotz, Koretzky, Vakoc and Yates are some of the strongest riders in the field.
The race is underway.
While the first qualifier had a breakaway of 10, this race sees a smaller group of 5.
Nareklishvili, Kamberaj, Sipos, Arvidsson and Aregger.
Germany, Belgium, France, Slovakia and Great Britain are pace setting.
An image purely for my own benefit - Andy Schleck is protecting Gastauer at this stage of the race.
Moving forwards to the key moments of the race.
16km to go, the break is clear by 50 seconds on a peloton of 51. There's about 1 lap to go, as Nareklishvili tries to leave his breakaway companions.
Missing in their entirety from the peloton are Austria. Preidler, Grossschartner, Schonberger and Konrad are all in this latest group to be dropped, which will be disappointing for them. Swedish team leader Ericsson is here too, but at least Arvidsson still gives them a chance from the breakaway. The likes of Adam Yates, Vysna, and Degenkolb, are dropped at this point too.
Now the peloton is down to 42, and another nation's best rider has gone - this time it is Siskevicius of Lithuania. Mads Pedersen is here too, Geoghegan Hart, Guerreiro, Frankiny and Pellaud all with him - but they all have teammates still ahead.
There are 10 nations left represented by the peloton, Switzerland also in the breakaway, along with 4 nations who only have a breakaway presence. 14 in contention then, with 12 to go through.
There's not to be a repeat of Qualifier 1 though, where the breakaway held out to win. Nareklishvili caught before the final climb, the rest caught soon onto it.
We don't see any action from the peloton however.
And so with 2.4km to go, a group of 35 is together at the front.
Bakelants is looking to launch De Bie.
Demare and Koretzky are front middle.
Sagan is there
Ackermann leads Buchmann
Simon Yates attacks!
And he has a good gap into the final kilometre.
Bakelants, Demare and Ackermann are leading the chase / leadouts. It might make more sense to be the other way round, but that's the way it is. Vakoc is now well placed.
Yates leads, but the gap is closing - that's one benefit of having Demare and Ackermann doing the chase.
Both Demare and Koretzky are closing.
But Simon Yates just holds on for victory! Demare a close 2nd, ahead of Koretzky all the way. Ackermann 4th.
Buchmann, De Bie, Sagan next. Van Stayen came sprinting forward from behind, ahead of Vakoc.
Let's see which nations are next.
Borges takes 14th, Müller is 16th, and showing the benefits of putting a sprinter in the breakaway, Albania are through with Kamberaj 20th.
Jensen and Juul-Jensen in 22nd and 25th are enough for Denmark, while Gastauer in 24th takes the 11th spot for Luxembourg.
One space left for the breakaway riders - and Sipos secures it for Hungary. Sweden and Georgia missing out.
