Hey guys...just thought I'd chuck up this little warning....
In early July I bought PCM 08(download style) after playing the 07 game for a few months. However, when i downloaded the game, because it would take so long i left it to download overnight, and when i woke up there were many warnings and virus alerts going on, and the download had paused. I continued the download, but could never get the game to start. Over the next few days, my laptop became more and more infected, and within a week i could not use it anymore.
This has cost me a fair chunk of money to fix, and the guys who fixed it said it was one of the most vicous viruses they have seen!
I asked Cyanide for a refund at least, however they just gave me more downloads, activations and reminded me to use the IDMs to prevent this, which i had when downloading anyway.
Do you think I am justified to persue this refund? And some of the cost of repair?
Just shows the internet is not so safe, even with a proper company like this somthing can get in their downloads, I just don't think it should have!

Im not sure its PCM08's fault to be honest. Mostly because Cyanide isnt stupid enough to sell a game with a virus.

i find it strange that you alone got viruses and nobody else hier did.
i think you were downloading some others stuff and that caused the viruses.
btw according t o AVG 8.0 , a keygen is a trojan horse
not everything a virusscanner says is ture

I did download the game too, no virus at my place. Which language did you download? Are you sure and can you proof that cyanide or the game did infect your computer, if not then I wouldn't even think about doing anything. |

Well u are probably victim of some hacker. I had similar problem, when playing some online game, someone send to me through packets travelling between my computer and server virus. So Cyanide arent responsible for your problem, u just had bad luck |

i guess even downloads from the likes of cyanide are gonna be able to be reached by the best hackers and their viruses. I decided not to do any more, but i urge cyanide to be vigilant! |

Fact is you had a virus. Fact isnt that it was Cyanide's fault. I believe that if Cyanide's (or their publisher) download server had virus planted on it, a lot more than just you would notice.

i'm quite sure that there would be relavent logs to show what files are on the server and if anyone was found to be tempering then there would be trouble.
Nobody else has this virus and so i don't believe it's from Cyanide.

Besides, it's the fewest virusses which damage the computer so much that you need to send it to a repair shop. |
