[PT/PCT/CT] Calendar, Goals and Race Profiles 2021
roturn
The Race Profiles forum for the 2021 season is now available. This year, it is ordered by race category. Some very few race are potentially wrongly placed due to late changes. You will always be able to find them via the search function. Right now some race clash informations are still missing there, but you can always find any clashes in the calendar in the monthly overviews.

Thanks a lot to those managers, that worked hard in the background on various stuff. Have to mention Abhishek and redordead for the main calendar work, Ulrich Ulrichsen for the stage work and knockout for having a look over balancing stuff.

The 2021 calendar file (which also has the HC/PTHC bands listed) can be downloaded here: https://pcmdaily....endar.xlsx

New Races
- Clasica San Jose (Costa Rica)
- Uppsala Classic (Sweden)

Removed Races
Spoiler
1 Corsica International
2 Tour of Cyprus
3 Berlin ProRace
4 Le Samyn
5 Malopolski Wyscig
6 Ronde van Het IJsselmeer
7 Tour of Uppsala
8 Windhoek ITT
9 GP Yekaterinburg
10 Transfagarasan GP
11 Trofeo Laigueglia
12 Clasique Pico Basile
13 Colombo Classic
14 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo
15 Rio Vista Chinesa
16 Tour de San Luis
17 Clasico San Cristobal

As you can see, the total number of race days is reduced, while team race days did not change, which means, more races will be filled with CT teams having to go to more C1 race days and PCT teams in need to join a very few additional C2 race days with the actual division teams having priority when it comes to race selection.

And obviously several races changed race category with the biggest reduction easily being Badaling International from PT and season starter to C2. Also new to the calendar the start of the season, which for PT teams won`t be a classic but instead the 3 day Tour of Tasmania.

Explanation

For those that don`t have PCM20 some hints how to read the symbols.
Flat, Hill, Mountain should be obvious. Reading the profile is important as there is a H/M ratio between 0-1 with 1 meaning 100 % mountain stat and 0 being 100 % hill stat with all values in between being a mix of both.
We worked a lot on this as it`s no longer manually changeable. If the symbol has it as hill, we try to reduce the mountain impact as much as possible. For clear hill races, it`s as close to 0 as possible, while mixed races (e.g. GTs, Tour of Portugal etc. it might be up to ~0.3 as well. Same with mountain stages, where it should be close to 1 and at least over 0.7. With the way how PCM in newer versions works though, this is not as straight forward as in old PCMs anymore as every single climb can basically suit a different rider type.

In extreme cases (Hallstatt / Lombardia) it might be a H/M of close to 0.5.

Cobbles remains a mix between 1-5 with most having the average difficulty of 3.

And the TT symbol is important. A white clock is an ITT, a TT symbol with a jersey in it is a TTT.

It is also now possible for you to decide on your team goals then.

Team Goals form a vital part of each team's season. In the short term, how hard goals you pick will determine your final budget - but in the longer term, how well you achieve those goals in the season will have a significant effect on your budget for the following season.

Going for harder goals could reward you greatly if you achieve them, but will punish you if you fail them. Easier goals will be less punishing if you dont achieve them, but they are in turn less rewarding aswell.

For new CT teams, it obviously isnt easy to pick goals without knowing what your team will be - so now is the time to decide which races you want to focus on, and you can then target riders in the transfers season appropriately.

Each type of goal has a cost, and every team must select 5 goals. The total goal cost must be between 14 and 23. There are also certain constraints on what type of goal you can select.

Race Flexibility

For one of your goals, you can select 2 races (of the same goal cost) rather than 1. For example: "Top 10, Tour de Suisse or Tour of Qatar". At the end of the transfer season, you must then choose which of these two races you want to keep in your goal.

Submitting your Goals

To submit your goals, please use the table format as seen in the spoiler and send it via PM s as seen further below.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone doing all the off season work (behind the screens), because you really made this possible so fast Smile

Now then, time to mess up my goals.

Changed the CT goals slightly.

It`s now 5 or 10 stage wins for 2 or 4 points as 15 were far off there.

Therefore top10 in team rankings being reduced from 3 to 2 points.

Note to everyone that GP Izola is Yellow (C2 colour) in the calendar, when it should be the darker C2HC colour. Please change in your calendars accordingly.

Good job everyone! Looking at the new profiles is exciting only RVV being rated flat for the third year in a row is a little disappointing

If I understood correctly a CT team has 60 race days at its disposal. An I correct in this? Thank you.

Should be a 150ish, Probably 50 in C2HC alone with the revised calendar.

CT has a total of 150 RDs. This is divided as:
58 mandatory RDs in C2HC
Remaining 92 RDs can be selected between races in C2 and C1 and also by HC wildcards.

For C2, CT teams get priority in case there are more than 24 teams applying for a race. For HC and C1, PCT teams get priority.

Hope that helps.

Have started to send out budgets for all those that had sent in goals the last time I checked.

In case you haven`t received it yet but did finish goals, no worry, probably you did send them in after I checked.

Also keep in mind, budget is for your eyes only. Please don`t post it anywhere.

roturn
If you haven`t received your budget yet, you likely haven`t sent in your goals yet. Please do so asap.
