Hey Guys,

how are you doing it and what do you think is more effectiv?

- Protect your captain and only follow in the last kilometers your team

- Follow your whole team from the beginning of the stage and don't protect

From the beginning of a stage? The follow or protect question usually comes up for climbs or specifically the last climb. One user did some testing for that (in PCM 18 but probably hasn't changed) and concluded they are both basically equal. Not sure if that helps you.

for montain stage it's making a train in online races
let's say you have a team of 5 climbers :
captain in position 4
vice-captain in position 3
1 weak climber in positions 1
the 3rd strongest climber in position 2
1 weak climber in position 5

your captain will be protected a little better
obviously it's better to make a longer train and having just 1 rider to bring water and rest to be in the train
if you played online pcm2020 or pcm2021 you will see users doing this

What I do is protect the leaders all the race, sometimes a domestique too. In hills and climbs I do a train
