Belgium is perphaps the biggest cycling country on earth and as such has more professionals than the maximum startlist size, meaning some riders had to be cut. The route is flat which favors the likes of Boeckmans, Keukeleire, Van Asbroeck and Van der Sande. But for a country known for classic specialists, a late attack is not unthinkable.
Lierse doesn't have a sprinter so tries to attack with Biermans. Baugnies jumps to his wheel. Farfetch is controlling the gap with Cras and Verschaeve.
The duo is brought back by the Farfetch train, which briefly caused some panic for riders at the back such as Naesen and Merlier, but both of them as well as some other outsiders are back in touch with the front pack.
Baugnies attacked again with two kilometer to go, this time in company of Declerq, but Wouters didn't give them an inch. However, he was the last rider remaining for Van der Sande, who now has to open the sprint at 1300 meters. The other sprinters on his wheel, Keukeleire, Vanbilsen, Boeckmans, De Bondt, Van Asbroeck, Naesen and Philipsen.
A sizeable gap opens to the three leaders: Boeckmans, Van der Sande and Keukeleire. The Podium Ambition rider is still on the wheel of the Farfetch rider who is slowly losing speed, he has to get out of his wheel to challenge the Swisslion rider.
Kris Boeckmans is the new Champion of Belgium, winning the sprint supremely! Van Asbroeck with a late jump to take second and De Bie somewhat surprisingly ending up on the podium. Van der Sande takes fourth despite his team doing alll th work, and still has Keukeleire glued to his wheel.

Belgian National Time Trial Championship
Cornu versus Frison versus Jallays versus Vandousselaere.
Jallays is the first of these four to take to the course and beats the then-best time of Bille by nine seconds at the first checkpoint.
His dreams are quickly shattered by Vandousselaere who goes fourteen seconds faster there!
Cornu takes another second off that time.
And Frison rides the same time as Vandousselaere. Three riders within one second at the first checkpoint!
The situation is the same at the second checkpoint except Frison now ties with Cornu at the top. Wallays posts a time of 1h04'23 at the finish line.
Vandousselaere: 1h03'43...
Cornu: 1h03'39...
Frederik Frison 1h03'38! The Aegon rider takes his first Belgian Time Trial Championship in a close battle, the top three being separated by five seconds! The split times suggested an even closer race, but Frison saved the best for last.
