Farfetch’ biggest rival today seems to be … Farfetch. Will they succeed in bringing the Great Britain title home in the British mountains?
Together with some amateurs, Stannard was in the early break that got caught quite quickly. 5.7 km left and just before we start the final uphill section we see six riders have a small gap over the other favourites. The six up front are Edmondson, Kennaugh, Tennant, Holmes, Cullaigh and Hennessy.
Kennaugh knows this is the perfect moment to attack, which is exactly what he does! 3 km left as Edmondson is in his wheel! Only Farfetch rider left is Carthy, who is at the back of the chasing group of 21. What happened?!
McEvoy closes the gap and brings Yates and sprinter Harrison with him! 500 meters left!
Just as Yates looked to be winning this one easily, Edmondson had another acceleration left and wins the Great Britain road title! What a surprise! What a win for CT team BNZ! Yates and Kennaugh complete the podium, with top favourite Carthy in fifth!

Stannard the top favourite in the time trial, but some fierce competition.
