Here they are, the long awaited Burkina Faso and Tunisia national championships. Minoungou and Nikiema will have to fight it out for the Burkina Fasoese title, with the latter being the favourite. The two Bralirwa Tunisians needs to try and fend off Aramco’s Hasnaoui, which should be doable.
Bralirwa takes the matter in their own hands and after setting the pace and reeling the early break back in, it’s Ben Nasser who attacks with 10 km left!
Nikiema counterattacks and gets watchdog Khederi with him! The trio has a minute lead over the peloton when they enter the final uphill km. The teams winning their national championship already seem certain, but what Tunisian will it be?
He can’t believe it, but it’s true! Old dog Ben Nasser wins the combined and Tunisian road championship ahead of Burkina Faso champion Nikiema! Khederi also on the podium.
