Several names hoping to win the French championship today. Koretzky the favourite, but Turgis also had a nice season. Demare could finish it with his strong sprint, whereas Vuelta winner Lecuisinier would enjoy a hard race, although that will be hard to have with barely 50 km on the menu.
Puma and Festina set the pace from the start and make sure the solo amateur attacker for the Minions gets caught quickly. Just before the riders reach the top of the penultimate hill with 10.5 km to go, we see an attack by Turgis!
The Puma riders say ‘nope’ and bring the Farfetch rider back quickly. 1.5 km to go as Demare is being brought forwards.
The Puma rider goes early and still leads with 500 meters to go! Koretzky in his wheel, other favourite Turgis coming on the right side of them!
But the Puma rider is simply the fastest and holds them off rather easily! Demare is the 2020 French national champion!

French Time Trial Championship
France really is a time trial nation. Let’s see who’s feeling good.
5 riders to go as Mottin currently has the best time: 1h03’45”.
Robert unable to improve that time, but Viennet is: 1h03’24”.
Paillot is another eleven seconds faster! Top favourite Coppel was four seconds slower at the first chrono, what will it be at the finish?
He loses another five seconds, Paillot is the French time trial champion!
