Only four professional teams at the start, but three of them are hoping for the national title. Bralirwa the only team with more than one professional rider.
Bralirwa have controlled the race and never gave the early break too much room. As we prepare for the final ascent, all of the favourites are within the first twenty positions of the peloton.
Ndayisenga knows Areruya has the strongest sprint uphill and attacks with 4.5 km to climb!
Hategeka goes for the counter attack, but is surrounded by the entire Bralirwa team! 1.5 km left for Ndayisenga, who has a 45” lead! Top favourite Areruya has dropped back to +- 50 th position, nobody knows why!
And Ndayisenga holds on, delivering Bralirwa the Rwandan national champion! Niyonshuti with a second medal for the team in third, as Uwizeyimana wins silver! Areruya heavily disappointing with an off-day in ninth.

Rwandan Time Trial Championship
Two men with a chance of winning the time trial. Double for Bralirwa?
The first rider of the big two on the road is Uwizeyimana. His time is 1h03’29”. That’s a good time.
Too good for Hadi, who is 42” slower. Uwizeyimana wins the Rwandan national time trial championship!
