Welcome to Portugal for their hilly NC. Paulinho and Borges the favourites.
Berg Cycles has been pulling the strings in the peloton from the very start and never gave the early breakaway a chance. 24 km left, 3 hills to go.
Borges doesn’t want to wait for his sprint and attacks on the penultimate hill! 10.5 km to go as he has a 20” gap over the peloton, where Berg Cycles has five men in the first five positions.
He gets caught with 4 km to go and you would think it’s game over. Teammate Oliveira launches him into the final km, he has a small gap over the other favourites!
And he holds onto that gap! Borges the new Portuguese NC, with Paulinho and Guerreiro winning silver and bronze.

Portugese Time Trial Championship
Team UBS’ Goncalves the favourite here, will he deliver?
Double for Duolingo? Barbio currently the best time of 1h05’50”. Two riders to come.
No double for Duolingo. Reis improves Barbio’s time by eleven seconds.
But it’s easy peasy lemon squeezy for favourite Goncalves, who is another 50” faster than the King Power rider.
