Giro dell’Emelia
Welcome for the last HC classic of the season! Last year’s winner Beltran is back to defend his title in the 12th edition of the Italian puncheur classic, but there are several other previous winners at the start as well. These are Klemme, Kelderman and home rider Di Maggio. If we take a look at the startlist, we don’t see many Italians with a big opportunity of winning in their country tomorrow.
| MTN | HILL | ACC | STA | RES | Kelderman | 71 | 82 | 72 | 80 | 75 | Claeys | 66 | 82 | 71 | 72 | 66 | Di Maggio | 65 | 82 | 75 | 73 | 68 | Beltran | 79 | 81 | 76 | 73 | 72 | Betancourt | 73 | 80 | 74 | 72 | 71 | Prevar | 71 | 80 | 73 | 77 | 70 | Waeytens | 71 | 80 | 73 | 72 | 70 | Ulissi | 66 | 80 | 75 | 83 | 71 | Chaves | 76 | 79 | 72 | 74 | 73 | Yates | 70 | 79 | 80 | 77 | 70 | Gebrezgabihier | 70 | 79 | 69 | 74 | 74 | Bilbao | 67 | 79 | 75 | 77 | 71 | Gautier | 67 | 79 | 76 | 75 | 71 | Turgis | 66 | 79 | 77 | 76 | 78 | De Plus | 76 | 78 | 72 | 74 | 73 | Benoot | 75 | 78 | 71 | 75 | 74 | Moazemi | 73 | 78 | 73 | 72 | 72 | Klemme | 72 | 78 | 63 | 71 | 67 | Areruya | 77 | 77 | 74 | 75 | 77 | Poljanski | 77 | 77 | 71 | 70 | 70 | Squire | 77 | 77 | 71 | 70 | 70 | Guerreiro | 76 | 77 | 72 | 73 | 73 | Monsalve | 81 | 76 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Yates | 79 | 76 | 76 | 79 | 80 |
Three puncheurs with an 82 hill stat, but only one should actually be playing a role in the finale. Kelderman had an interesting PCT journey lately, with a win and a disappointing fifteenth place a bit later. Back to the top for the Dutchman? Beltran might be his biggest rival for the win, as he combines strong climbing and punching skills, which he recently proved in the Tour of Lithuania. Other 80+ puncheurs that are thinking about ending their season in style are Betancourt, Prevar and Waeytens.
While Yates is clearly the strongest sprinter/puncheur on the startlist, it might be more likely to see a stronger climber, which should be one of the likes of Chaves, De Plus, Benoot, Areruya, Guerreiro, or even guys like Monsalve or Yates, who excel more in climbing than punching itself.
That’s it for the preview. Good luck to everyone tomorrow, in your last race of the 2020 season!

Haven't seen any rankings and don't know how nervous I should be, so right now I think I'm settled on very Hope JA can do some kind of job with a good skillset for this race even if he doesn't have top stats. Good luck to everyone here, I know we can't all get what we want but hope for an exciting end to a great season. Thanks for the preview Nemo

Kelderman has two hits and one miss against PCT opposition this season. I'm hoping he adds to the majority! The support isn't the best with the double header in Zuri but hope that this will be enough.
Thanks for the preview

*sees Claeys on the startlist*
I'm going on an early vacation, nothing relevant can happen here...

I thinks it's fair to say Beltran should be favourite #1 without Buchmann here. Would be nice, I doubt anyone else has this race as a win goal
Thanks for the preview Nemo

Looking forward to see what Monsalve can do in this course. He's been very variable in his performances this season, so I'm not sure what to expect. A top 10 would be great, though.

And that tops off a very very disappointing season from Ulissi. Supposed to have one of the best kicks and finishes in the Puncheur peloton but hasn’t showed it at all. At least that’s his last race for us out the way.

It seems Waeytens and Gebre saved us ... but wait for the final standings.
Congrats for the winner, it caused me some headache
Thanks for the report! |

Fablok overtook us, but we scored points baby.
Finally, the season is over and pain of listening to oldfart complain about every sprint stage and every sprinter is gone.
Thanks for all the reports Nemo

Prevar again with the annual Prevar thing, really love him winning a random classic every season!

Congrats! Also very happy that Kelderman showed he is worth a PCT leadership role.

Areruya disappointing a little bit but definitely not going to be what I remember about this race
Congrats fj, nice to see Prevar reminding us all he's got a win in him

Not Monsalve's best race, but this is not his terrain either, to be fair.
Congrats to fjhoekie! Great win for Prevar. That settles the 9th place for us, then, and we can begin to plan for another season in PCT.
Thanks for the report, Nemolito!

Great result, and once again Turgis gives me reason to think he might just be worth keeping in the PT. Congrats to Popo4Ever and thanks for the report Nemo! |

Claeys was actually well positioned, until he dropped like a stone in the sprint
Thanks Nemolito, congrats fjhoekie!

Very good 9th from Bilbao, old favourite Klemme managed a 20th.
Kraftwerk depth scorers 41,42,43,47 - needed them 10 places higher but still a good effort.
Thanks for the report Nemo and congrats to fjhoekie and jaxica.
