Graphic Card issues
RadioShack11
Hey guys,

I'm struggling with the PCM 20 and my graphic card.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti with 4GB dedicated video memory. But when playing the PCM it shows me, that only 128 MB are available, even when recognizing the correct graphic card.

Is there any fix or setting to play the PCM 20 with the full video memory?

There should be the possibility to "lock" specific programs into using your dedicated gfx card over your integrated card on laptops in Nvidia Control Panel.

The video memory thing happens to me as well (I actually never even noticed before). I think its just a graphical error as I've been playing the game with decent settings for years on my current laptop, when my integrated card would barely be able to play the game on lowest settings.

Okay, I now tried to play it on the maximum graphic settings. In the resource manager my dedicated graphic card went on to nearly 2 GB. So it seems like you said, that this is just a visualization error.

But I have the problem (doesn't matter which graphic setting), that the game lags in 3D mode. So when my peloton is driving through a city (for example), there is a short lag, so the picture is freezing for a few milliseconds and then speeding up for nearly the same time and then it goes normal.

Is there any fix for this behaviour? I thougt it was the graphic card issue, but it seems that the PCM is using the dedicated graphic card, so maybe it is something different?

My hardware is:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz (6 cores)
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti with 4GB dedicated video memory

I think this should be enough to play the PCM without lags.

I have a similar computer and only get lag when I'm playing on battery

I think the game lags for everyone at some times, even with the top of the line hardware. I think its poorly optimized stages, and too much detail put into the stages which happens a lot with user created stages (rather than "officialrelease" stages). Obviously lots of detail is great, and I certainly still think its worth it, but its kind of the downside to having so much detail.

I've read of people complaining they have lag, even with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, for example. PCM is simply a poorly optimized game, and then some stage makers really go the extra mile with stage details which adds some lag, due to so much detail as well as the poor optimization, which means its always going to happen basically.

Thanks for the answers Smile

I tested some different settings now and it seems to be a little bit better. But I cannot say which setting did the trick unfortunately.
