Well, I guess it's time for a new thread since the draw for the first group is tomorrow.
By the way, Danish champions AaB defeated Kaunas, the team which sent Rangers out of Champions League, 4-0 (2-0 in each match). They pretty much had zero chances in both matches. There's a good explanation for the 2nd match, though: They got two red cards
Liverpool is currently playing their qualifying match against Standard Liege. 0-0 in first match, and with 65 minutes played in the 2nd match it's still 0-0. Interesting... |

Guimarães just got knocked out by 1 goal. an extremely obviously offside goal........tough.
Porto and Sporting are both in pot 2 (of 4) for tomorrow.

Nice to see Bate Borisov and Anorthosis in it, champions deserve to be in the CHAMPIONS league imo, shame tho that Anorthosis had to knock out Olympiakos who I like

And Guimaraes scored the equalizer. Not offside, but the assistant referee considered it offside. Dutch guys...

didn't know about that. oh well.
One important note: the referee is dutch.....born in Basel, where his mother is from.
So no wonder he robbed anyone that played Basel...
The forum over at soccerpulse is rioting, basically. it's a scandal. wanna bet UEFA will do nothing about it?

Post of the day when it comes to Champions League: "your bitter tears. they sustain me. " said about the eastern european teams that qualified instead of some other, more loved teams.

I know that this is Cup and not Champions League, but when a buddy of mine, who is a big Villa fan, was in Las Vegas he had his dad put down $100 on Villa beating that Icelandic team they played. They did so, and the payoff was, $106. They earned 6 dollars as the odds were 1.06:1. I thought that was hilarious. |

First of all, Basel's goal wasn't offside, isso! The portuguese left back was sleeping and so Stocker wasn't offside. Bitter for Vitoria that the Assistant (and not the referee) gave offside. I was in stadium (I live in Basel), and we all knew, that it wasn't offside, because it was so obvious.....but in the end, we all were very happy Champions League....we're coming

I can't watch it right now, I'm at work, but the replays were very clear to me yesterday (the sideline cam on the ground. other cameras made it impossible to make a call)
On RTPN (portuguese channel) last night they showed a computorized view of the situation. Roberto was 2.15 meters onside.
