I've been compiling my own personal database, using Fast Editor, and I've slowly been able to piece together what each of the columns in STA_race means. Except for one!
Would someone be able to shed some light on the meaning of the "gene_i_comfort" column?
I've noticed that most of the races are set to a "comfort" rating of 3. Then there are a smaller number at 2 or 4, an even smaller number at 1 or 5, and then a handful at 0 (including, strangely, all of the National Championship RR and TT). So is 3 some sort of baseline, with the rest representing departures from the norm in some way? What does "comfort" do anyway?
If it helps at all, I'm using WorldDB as my starting point, although I'm pretty sure the base game sticks to the same scale too.
I understand this value may be related to a rating of recuperation between race days but I am not sure it is effectively implemented or not in the game.
Since NC are one day races, no recuperation is needed anyway. A 0 or a 5 will not change anything.
Thanks sylvao, that's some really useful information to know.
Do you by any chance happen to know in which direction the comfort scale runs? Intuitively I'd guess that 5 comfort means that riders recover quickly between stages, whereas 0 comfort means they hardly recover at all. Is that your understanding too?
And noted that you don't think the system was implemented properly in the game, and wouldn't apply to one day races in any case. So it's probably only of theoretical value. But still good to know anyway, just in case.

I've done some testing on GT with the gene_i_comfort value at 1 (minimum) and 5 (maximum), the freshness of riders at last stage was very similar (medium for low REC riders and good (but not very good or excellent) for good REC riders.
So I think that this value is not used into the game.
However I've done only simulation testing, not 3D game but I don't expect it will impact the results.
