Its a mostly flat race in Ireland but with hilly stages and a 24 km TTT to potentially decide the race.
Procycling-BBC may well be the popular team amongst the Irish supporters in the race, with Irish National RR Champion Nicholas Roche, Irish National TT Champion Stephen Gallagher, and also Daniel Martin, in their lineup. They also bring Ben Swift and Magnus Backstedt.
Other than Procycling, Sprinters such as Manan, Wong (British Airways), Bacquet (Dasani), Hendersen (IrnBru), Haselbacher (Nippo), Haussler (NVidia), Haedo (Slipstream), Sonnery, Corioni (White Bear Steyr) and Usov (Wiggle) will look for stages, while the likes of Bellis (British Airways), Seledkov (IrnBru) and Cummings (Wiggle) will be amongst those going for the tougher stages, or into the breakaways. We also have the TT powerhouses from Slipstream and 8 B Teams.

I brought six riders with over 70+ SP. And i think Bellis got 70+ too. Now if only i had remembered the TTT when we were planing our seasons...

I think it's the same here Waghlon... Cummings may be the only guy who can TT well...
Usov hopefully may actually score a point here. Maybe. if not, his lead out man Gajek has a slight chance. Matt Hayman is another lead out man for Usov.
Looking at my squad, i actually have brought Kaisen along, with his 75 TT, Cummings with 73, Hayles with 74, and Tom Diggle rounds off the squad. He performed well at a previous GB race, so i'm hoping he gets involved.
I also noticed, or should i say, failed to notice, any hills in this stage race. Woopsy! Cummings and Diggle are tied for the best hill stat...at 68!

Fortunately, Dan Martin made the break for me. He should get a good overall position now since I have a decent TTT team

Now thats more positive. Only 54 seconds away from the overall. Hopefully Diggle will be able to both claim the KoM overall, and move up a bit if he can hang with my TT specialists. Usov is probably out of it from now on after a crash i guess.
EDIT:
WOW! Awesume. Obviously he heard me and was fired up for today. First win of the season for Usov!

You are a genius sir. Combined with a few top tens from Manan, a stage win from Bellis (and partly Hoffmann), this tour looks like a sucess. A minor one, but still a sucess.

Same. Two stage wins from Usov, Diggle creeps into the top 10 with 9th overall. Many thanks to those riders who crashed and lost time. Plus a 2nd in the points jersey, and another KoM jersey, but this time we get to keep it. Smashing stuff i say!

assuming that points are awarded on the TTT so that Slipstream are awarded points for first and Procyling second and Irn bru third etc etc my tally, according to my calculations comes out to 253 points. I haven't seen a standings update in a while but I assume Slipstream is top 3.
We also scored points every single stage of the race!

I think we scored roughly 94 points, but i suppose thats ok still. Keeps the points ticking in still. Plus i'm seeing how many mistakes ive made this year choosing the right squad for the terrain, so next season i'll be better than ever.

Mohs
Terpstra, on the final stage!!!
That's not the way it's meant to happen! To be fair, its the first race where we've had really bad luck all season. At least we scored a few points anyway!
Congrats to Slipstream and Wiggle, they both had a great race. |
