The biggest knock for me on the game is how time consuming and difficult the season planner is for your team in career mode, and was wondering how much the new planner helper feature helps with that?
In some ways the old planner modes back in the 2005-2009 days were better. You could group your cyclists into squads like cobbles, hills etc., and after you created or edited an existing plan, you could save it and use it season after season.
I would say planner and cars in the middle of the road in races is my 2 biggest grips.
Anyway, any info or feedback on the planner or PCM 20 in general would be welcome.
I used it a couple of times when first playing this version and didn’t think it was any good, so I don’t use it anymore. It didn’t select the correct riders for the correct races and also noticed that it seemed to not select the poorer riders of the squad for a lot of races.
First thing I do for the planner is prepare the season of my leaders. That’s usually pretty straightforward, then I copy that to one or two domestiques for each ones. By doing that, I’ve done half the squad already. I also plan the squads for all, or most, of my objectives or sometimes the WT races. Then I do the rest trying to select the riders based on their strengths and giving everyone a roughly equal number of race days
Thanks for the info!
I was afraid of that. I was hoping it would basically have you give some input like "These are my cobble guys" (or TDF, Giro, Hills etc.) and it would plug them all into the cobble races and schedule the fitness training.
Sigh. Is it too late to hire back the guy who handled the training schedules for the early and mid 2000 games?
I plan manually for all riders I care about and I let the assistant planner handle everyone who is simply support. For races that are objectives it's a good idea to personally handle selection for everyone. It takes some time but it makes it easy to handle a demanding team.
