This really is a race of circuits. There are 7 stages - and the only one which isnt a circuit is Stage 5, the Mountain time trial of Mount Fuji, which should decide this race.
So it is therefore surprising that there arent many climbers here at all. Jose Chacon (Champion), Pablo Perez Marquez (Nippo), Francisco Colorado (Zenmind), Thomas Rohregger (White Bear Steyr) and Vitor Rodrigues (LA/MSS/Pearl Jam). One of those 5 should win but if he can limit his losses in the ride up to Fuji, Angel Vicioso (Gatorade) could go for it in the following hilly stage.
There are also very few top sprinters here and on paper Ahmad Haidar Anuawar (Nippo) and Aitor Perez Arrieta (Champion) should battle for the victory on the sprinters stages.

Tour of Japan doesn't recieve a whole lot of attention 'round here.
I'm thinking Pearl Harbor is to blame

I think it would be a good race to run with only B teams. Stage races are great for development, which is one great thing about B squads, if you play your cards right some of your guys might get better, and it would be more interesting without one dominant rider or one dominant team.
