In 2008, Jaap90 goes back to 1996. The year that Tonkov was the last non-Italian winner of the Giro and Riis rode full of EPO a recordtime on the Hautacam. I will trial these opponents with one of the two Dutch cyclingteams: TVM.
The squad:
The objectives are very hard. Most important for the team is a podiumplace in the Tour of Flanders and winning the Championship of Belgium. |

Yeah, top3 on Flanders seems preety hard, but if belgian champs are in a hilly terrain I think it will be easy..
Good luck! |

Also, if you use any puns involving Hamburger's name, you will be banned permanently from this forum. So when Hamburger gets dropped, you will refer to it as him being "dead", "wasted", "spent" or any other word that isn't "cooked", caspisce?
Carry on, nothing to see hir

To earn some money in the Etoile de Bessege, we have to increase the condition of the riders. Our squad started in the European season-opener with Jesper Skibby as leader and Bart Voskamp for the breakaway.
The race started in a very hard pace, but unfortunatly we missed the breakaway of 15 men. The gap grew very slow to almost 15 minutes and Nijdam and De Jongh had to lead the peloton, but no teams were ready to help. De breakaway made it to the finish and Giuseppe Calcaterra of the Saeco-squad placed an attack on the Col de la Gineste and the other cyclist in the breakaway didn't saw him back before the finish.
The result for TVM was bad. Voskamp was in a final breakaway out of the pack, but didn't came closer than 2 minutes of Calcaterara.
Result:
1 Giuseppe Calcaterra Saeco
2 Sergio Previtali Panaria Vinavil
3 Valentino Fois Panaria Vinavil
4 Stephane Hennebert Cedico - Ville De Charleroi
5 Alexei Sivakov Roslotto - ZG Mobili
6 Erwan Mentheour Aki - Gipiemme - Safi
7 Xavier Jan Force Sud
8 Asiat Saitov Refin Mobilvetta
9 Stephane Conan Agrigel - La Creuse
