Hello, i created a new race (the "tour of the world" ) and put it in the career mode as pro tour, with his xml, logo etc.
But it doesn't appear in the list of the race targets for the teams. Any clue on where i have to go edit to put it on this list? |

Why did you add a race anyway?
To add a race properly you need to edit both the database.cdb and the Local.cdb
As of yet no tool has been released that can even open the Local.cdb
You can edit it in some editors for PCM07 but it is not reccommended as they weren't made for PCM08

Just for fun. I'm using an alternative DB. I like personalizing the game, I wanted to see what other teams would do in a new long pro-tour race.
I added a race using an italian tool, it enables you to create teams and cyclist in a visualway (I mean, you don't have to search on the table like with hannes). Also it permits you to add races, actually I don't know if and how it touches Local.cdb
Well, i'll pass on the targets then |

Sure. I would also be able to translate it if I knew in what language is programmed. (I'm Italian )
To help you:
Nuova squadra = new team
Nuovo corridore = new cyclist
Corse (races) -> Anagrafica (list of the races)
Then it's going to be a bit too long there
About editing a cycling: the only thing you may not understand quickly are:
Massimo incremento (maximum points you can improve)
Potenziale (potential )
And, the stats:
Pianura - Plan or whatever
Discesa - downhill
recupero - recover
grinta - dunno how to call it. It's how much the cyclist fights
montagna - mountain
pavè - cobbles (Its called like this right?)
resistenza - resistance
forza - strong
accelerazione - acceleration
collina - the low mountains
That's all you need I think
Remember to add .cdb when you save as it doesn't do it automatically.

You mean the editor? Sorry, didn't know it could be that useful and also it's in italian If you want I think it can be added to the site also, but you should ask Clecorda before (his nick on the italian forum).

It looks interesting. But it looks a bit too simple. I'm always wary of things that are simple...

Wow, it's such an interesting editor. Very easy to use and with some interesting features. It's great.
I'll contact Clecorda. |

lol @ addy
One thing: the first screen which pops up when u try to open an editor says:
Attention
Not every database can be edited correctly.
Cyanide's original databases or other created on them or modified with Hannes will work, others we can't assure.
Just to warn. |

Yes it definately seems a bit simple.
It looks like it could be very good, a lot of things are there to edit. But I don't like the simpleness, it un-nerves me

I like that you, Addy, see simplicity as something negative while the rest of us see it as something very, very positive |

Well, as a generalization, simpler things tend to be more unstable than more complex things.
I'm not saying it doesn't look good, because it does. There is a hell of a lot that it has the potential to edit. I just can't see how something this simple will be as stable as the Advanced Editor.
I'd like to be proved wrong though, I suppose

Indeed, i use this only to minor edits like the stats, etc. Sometimes it crashed, so i always make some backups of the dbs.
Still, to edit this kind of things is far away the quickest way. |

thanks for uploading it, looks a nice and easy editor to use, if i create a new team where would i need to put the graphics and i guess all the graphics i would need would be the different kit sizes and the sponsors logo |

I've added a race without editing the local.cdb
About the editor I'm like you, Addy, i've always used kicker to edit my DBs but this tool is something new, never seen befor it a simple tool that can make what it makes without problems. Infact, the race I added it was with while I was testing the editor |

Guys..
I never worked with PCM databases.. I want to create some teams (less than 10) to add to the game.. I downloaded the cleditor posted above and it looks easy, creating the riders and the teams..then what would be left to do?
Will it work in both single and career mode? It looks too easy..
I'll thank any help you can give.. |

It depends on what you want to do. If you have created a teams and his riders, of course it will work, but make sure that where it asks: cartella per la grafica you put the name of the folder where your graphic stuff for that team is, or i don't even know what the hell will be shown |
