As someone who likes to play career mode i have noticed trainers have absolutely no impact on the game whatsoever, even free transfers gain more attributes during a season than most of my riders including the so-called potential monsters, is this the same for everyone else or have i got a dud download.
This basically makes the career mode shite for me as you can't bring on young talent(something i loved doing with pcm07).

It's proberbly because your trainers are training to many riders.

no i have mythical trainers, training at excellent proficiency - most riders seem to improve for a year and a half then stop even though they still have lots of stars on the attribute page to still improve.
certainly it has nothing to do with the races a rider is in.
Some people have said it is some kind of progression curve like for PES evolution but i don't quite understand what that means, as riders progression just stops. |

Cyanide took the Experience bar away so you can't see what level your riders are... Once they get to level 4 though they stop growing as fast... Is there any way to actually check their level?

Its not the fact they have taken the experience bars away, there is just no reasoning for why a rider improves.
In hannes converter for pcm 2007 by checking the value-i-potentiel column you could find the best potential riders.
Now with pcm08 that column in hannes converter means nothing |

There's actually a individual max stat in each stat for each rider.
You can see it in Hannes Convertor if you look at the column limit_i_(statname)
A rider won't grow above that number unless you set it from (example) 72 to 78.
If I'm not completely wrong, potetial just means how fast he reaches his limits and how high the limits are. But that's just a guess.
Edit: Edited a typo.

Also, keep in mind that the riders progress in different ways now. In previous years, all riders progressed the same way. This year, some progress as young riders, others in the later years, etc. |
