Generally it should be possible, go to DYN_sponsor and edit gene_i_contract_end (and value_i_year_max just to be sure). However, I doubt it works once a season has started. So do it in December for the upcoming year. If you want a contract to end after the very first season you can try and edit the original database you start off with.

As Ripley said, you can set it so that it has a chance of happening, however in PCM 15+ (I believe), the AI sponsors only dont renew if the sponsor confidence is in the bottom two sections (so not satisfied or mad. neutral, happy or excited, or whatever they are called, I forget.. the sponsor would renew)
So the best way is to just change it in the offseason. I think all you need to do then is go to DYN_Team, and change the ID of the sponsor to a new sponsor, from the corresponding DYN_Sponsor table, and then manually change the team name in DYN_Team to the new sponsors name in an editor.
Me and my PCM 14 knowledge. Sure, of course it's pretty easy just to change the sponsor yourself when the time comes rather than relying on the AI to do it for you. And you can create the actual new sponsor and I'm sure you'll find a jersey, too.
I have enough sponsors and jerseys, but I want it to be as realistic as possible. Thar means I will try the first tipp from ripley.
