Checkpoints in existing stages

Hi,
I'm trying to create a couple of my own stages: I delete checkpoints in zcts file and try to add new checkpoints. But a slight problem has occured: I can't add those checkpoints. Is that a problem that only I have or is it something usual. And is it possible to solve this (how)? Thanks

If it the same as later versions just chose ad checkpoint and rightclick in the round roadpoints.
