A break could be allowed free today but we are anticipating the more likely outcome of Bertagnolli and Vandenbroeck looking to attack Hagen and take the overall lead from the Norwegian on the final stage of the race. With 4 riders top 15, expect some interesting team tactics from Molteni as they work for Vandenbroeck.

Less than 10km into the stage and we already have some action - Hagen has crashed!

He looks okay though and is paced back into the peleton by Sobota, Bouet and Vinter.

Meanwhile there are some attacks off the front - an interesting move from Molteni sees 9th overall Francis de Greef go away - he is just 3 minutes down on the GC

The lead goes up but B&O are on top of it and control the chase - all riders other than Hagen are relaying

And it seems unlikely that De Greef will win enough time - if any.

But the chase will have weakened B&O ahead of Molteni's next move. With 45km to go, Vandenbroeck, Landaluze and Mazzanti ride clear of the bunch

With only Keinath and Rovny left to chase B&O need help from other teams but the lead rises to a minute. Bertagnolli then makes his move with 29km to go but this time Hagen is ready and counters

Hagen is too strong for the Italian

But cannot catch up with the Molteni trio

The gap to Hagen is 30 seconds as 3 becomes 4 when De Greef is caught with 19km to go

De Greef is then dropped as Hagen also rides by, closing the gap to 20 seconds

Then with 9km to go, Hagen finally catches the Molteni trio - as does Bertagnolli. But Landaluze immediately attacks

He is allowed a bit of a gap as after all, Vandenbroeck is the one Hagen is worried about

The group is then joined by an attacker from the chasing group, Ruslan Grychenko, and with 2km to go, Landaluze is caught

But then disaster for Molteni as Vandnebroeck crashes

Molteni's plans have unravelled. Vandenbroeck wont win the GC and they may not even win the stage now as Hagen powers up the inside
