Stage 5 is a 20.2km ITT which will likely shake up the GC order. With the majority of the stronger Time Trialists having lost time so far there is a lot riding on todayâ€™s stage for their GC hopes, as well as those of the puncheurs.

The first notable TTer to complete the course is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/zal.png

Hofer, in a time of 24â€™36.

However, his spell in the hot seat is short lived, as French Champion pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/eue.png

Robert beats his time by 9 seconds at the checkpoint, and 16 seconds at the finish (24â€™19).

Rekita is the next rider to get within 10 seconds of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/eue.png

Robert at the checkpoint (+6), but a poor finish ends with him 21 seconds down at the finish.

Goncalves also manages a competitive first half of his ride (+10), before finishing in provisional 4th (+23) at the finish.

Navardauskas posts an identical time (+10) to the Portuguese rider at the checkpoint, before finishing slightly quicker for provisional 3rd (+19).

Sterobo is one of the best positioned TTers going into this stage (17th, +1â€™25), but his performance is a little disappointing - +11 at the checkpoint, +19 (and provisional 3rd) at the finish.

Reus (14th, +1â€™13) puts together a better ride though - +6 at the halfway point, and provisional 2nd (+9) at the finish.

Craddock (13th, +59) is another strong TTer in a good GC position. He canâ€™t match pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/zal.png

Reus and

Sterobo though, finishing 29 seconds down at the finish.

Squire (10th, +30) is the first of the top 10 GC riders to take the start ramp, and he struggles as expected. +1â€™05 at midway, and +1â€™49 at the finish.

That is still better than pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/eur.png

Henao (9th, +30) manages though. Heâ€™s 1â€™37 down at the time check, and 2â€™39 down at the finish.

Freuler (8th, +30) will also likely be disappointed with his ride, losing 1â€™11 in the first half of the course and finishing 1â€™52 down.

Zoidl (7th, +27) would have dreamt of being in such a strong situation coming into the TT. He disappoints slightly, losing 26 seconds by the time check and finishing +38, but he may still be in pole position for the GC lead.

Belmokhtar (5th, +25) has done well to find himself so far up the GC, so his fall after today wonâ€™t be too painful, as he loses 1â€™30 on the day.

Izagirre (4th, +25) has outperformed expectations so far. He loses 1â€™12 today though, which will cause him to slip down to 5th on GC.

Zingle (3rd, +25) manages though - 1â€™00 down at midway, he loses 1â€™33 at the finish.

Meyer (2nd, +10) sets an identical time to the Belgian at the first checkpoint, but manages to find a few seconds by the end - heâ€™ll be happy to lose only 1â€™34 today.

Hoelgaard crosses the line. 1â€™20 down at midway it is clear heâ€™ll lose his jersey, and a final time loss of 2â€™07 will guarantee that.
