Breakaways dominated the final GC in last years editon and Gianni Meersman took a valuable result for his team by winning, he returns this year to defend his title in a race of just 9 teams.
B&O will hope that the race wont have breakaways dominating this year since they have brought Norwegian champion Edvald Boasson Hagen to the race with support including Ivan Rovny and the winner of stage 1 last year, Jonas Aaen Jorgensen.
Benfica's squad is led by sprinter Javier Benitez while other than Meersman, IrnBru's squad includes Wes Sulzberger and Chris Sutton.
Pearl Jam will be aiming for the sprints with French duo Mondory and Sebastien Chavanel alongside Italian Biondo. Molteni dont have a sprinter but with the likes of Vandenbroeck, Mazzanti, and Landaluze, they have a strong team nonetheless.
Wiggle have almost become a team of breakaway specialists this season, both Cummings and Stamsnjider who ride here have scored a win from the break this season. The team also brings their hilly rider Bertagnolli.
Zenmind lay their hopes on Argentine sprinter Richeze, while the B teams of Magenta and Sony Ericsson also ride.

Well, looking at the results last month, i wasn't too far off a possible 5% chance of promotion, but now i feel i need to win every jersey, every stage of this race to get me back up there. Pressure? Nah, the breakaways always succeed... right!?
I've, for some unknown reason, brought quite a British squad with me. McCallum, Cummings, Rowe (Luke), and Diggle. They're joined by team sprint leader Cadamuro, hilly rider Bertagnolli, and all rounder Stamsnijder.

Sprinting isn't exactly the strongest point of my team eventhough I hoped that Jørgensen could win a few for me, but he has been dissapointing so far. Hagen looks ready with a 9th place finish though

Whoooo, Bertagnolli pulls a great result out the bag! Also a brilliant fall by some muppet to put him upto 2nd overall. What can be better?! Other than the win of course... but against B&O, what chance do you have...!?

First wins of the season for Hagen. I'm ecstatic with this result. My heart skipped a beat when he crashed on stage 5, but damn he was so strong in the finale. Also very nice rides by Rovny and Keinath
I still can't believe the succes my team is having after I finished 12th in the Rankings last year.

Well thats nice Still don't think i'll be up there by the end of the season. Which, on that topic, I've already been looking at what i'm going to do with my riders next year, and so far i've decided to swing away from what i've been doing this year. Here's to finding some quality rider for sale that i need.

I honestly didn't expect I would see these kind of results already. When I saw how Pluchkin and Hagen had developed over last season, I though they might do quite well, but I honestly thought there would be at least 3 teams that would beat me in the long run. But I'm quite okay with this anyhoo
And I like the new rankings

Its probably best that B&O are promoted this year or Hagen and co. will make a mockery of the ct next year.
Interesting standings, 3-10 are all very good, but it will be very difficult to get into the top 2 with Fed-Ex and B&O. Its also hard to judge because some schedules are structured differently, meaning some teams like Gatorade will rely more on races later in the season. Gatorade actually have the two best riders from last year left(Pozzovivo in PT) and could do very well in the hilly classics with Wegmann and Vicioso.
Edit: and I just realized my B team hasnt scored at all
