Hello and welcome for day 1 of the famous Giro del Trentino. We start off with a 28km flat TTT around Bassano del Grappa, which could be crucial for the final GC.

We start our broadcast with most teams having finished their effort. Let’s see how they fared in the first two sectors of today’s battle against the clock

It seems like we are going to have a battle between pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/kmm.png Kraftwerk and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/azt.png Azteca on our hands, with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/eue.png Euskaltel with a considerable loss already.

The first team to finish is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/ros.png Rostrum. They are not going to win today, or even have a decent result, but they stop the clock at 35’26’’ and that should help us measure the times of other teams

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/ahe.png Adastra has hopes of a good GC here so a good result is needed from them. They are going for a low top-10 and will need to show their intent in the next few stages.

They finish with 34’35.

One of the biggest candidates for today took to the road in an early schedule. They are pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/azt.png Azteca with no.1 favourite Eastman. The americans will dictate the time to beat.

Which is 33’47. A brilliant effort. We’ll probably have to wait for Kraftwerk to see someone challenge that.

Meanwhile pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/vip.png VIP – Mobile set themselves a decent time of 34’07.

The Italo-swiss end with 34’43

Next up is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/eue.png Euskaltel another big favourite. Led by the French national champion they are not performing as they would have liked. Can they make amends in the final sector.

They can, but enough to dethrone Azteca. Final time of 34’02. No yellow jersey for them.

A few more teams finish their ride. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/ptm.png Petrom with a very consistent ride finish with a time of 34’16, while pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/gcn.png GCN clocks a 34’49. Their train showed a lot of difficulty keeping their form, namely because of their climbers breaking the fluidity of the group.

In the end, their sovietic consistency grants them a provisional 3rd place with 34'08.

Onto more serious contenders, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/kmm.png Kraftwerk could be in with a great chance of victory having taken the best times in both preliminary sectors. Let’s look at the clock as they sprint for the finish…

And they finish! 33’44 is their final time! Just enough to keep their rivals at bay. It would take something special to beat them now.

But there is still one team on the course. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/nrh.png NENT is the last squad to try their luck. With their leader and brittish TT champion leading the way, the rest of the group find it hard to follow their captain already in the first few kilometers. Their effort seems to have paid off in the first two sectors. Do they still have anything in the tank to challenge for the win?

No they can’t. Final time of 34’09 seems them finish in 5th place, which is a pretty good result.
