1. put your database/savegame in the "Database" folder
2. Open the "PCM2008_CDB_to_XML"
3. Select the database you want to edit from the "Database In" drop-down menu.
4. Now type the name of the folder you want your .xml files to be stored in, it doesn't matter what the name is, as long as you know what it is
5. Decide whether or not to import DYN_fatigue, in databases it is empty so you might as well import it, however in savegames it can be very large and take a long time to import, so you can choose whether or not to import it.
6. Hit the "Import..." button, it will take a while to import all the tables, depending on how large the database is.
7. When it says "All tables done" go to the "Exports" folder and your .xml files will be in whatever you named the output folder.
8. Open and edit what you want, remembering to save the tables in excel as an XML Data file and overwrite the original table.
9. When finished editing, bring the PCM2008_CDB_to_XML back up again and select the folder in which all your .xml files are in, through the drop-down menu named "Folder In".
10. Then type the name you want your edited database to have (recommended not to overwrite the database you edited, in case your editing doesn't work) in the "Database Out" folder
11. Hit the "Export..." button and wait until it says "All Tables done" (this could take a long time, depending on how much data is being exported)
12. When finished exporting, go into the "Database" folder and find your exported database. You now have a choice, either name it "OfficialRelease.cdb" and overwrite the database in C:/Program File/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2008/Database folder or you can name it to anything you want other than "OfficialRelease.cdb" and play it the the My Documents/Pro Cycling Manager 2008/Database folder.
13. Then open the game and select you database from the list through "Options". If your editing is good, it won't crash.
Think that's about it.

In the folder out you don't write C:/advanced editor, sorry I must've confused you at that point.
Just write something like "dbedit" and in the place where your editor is installed it will add a folder in the "exports" folder. F.e. looking at what you have done, yours may appear in:
C:/advanced editor/exports/"dbedit"
making more sense?

must be...dunno what. I just open it up and change stuff...
When you open it in Excel 2007 you must click ok to both things that come up. On the first one, don't change the selection (out of 3 selections) just click ok.
Other than that, I don't know

The option you select out of the 3 should be "As an XML table"

when I open it with excel 2007, you can choose between:
open file as:
1 XML tabel
2 a only read workmap
3 something that definitely won't be the solution for my problem
I choose the first one, then there is a windows that says that the opened XML-source doesn't refer to a tabel, after which you can only choose 'ok' or 'help'. After clicking 'ok' it seems that the tabels are normally opened, but I can't change anything...
maybe open it with Microsoft Works Spreadsheet or with OpenOffice?
