Portuguese National Road Race Championship
Both Portuguese ProTour teams suffered relegation, and now will fight for their national title in the sprint.
As we head onto the final lap with the obligatory amateur breakaway caught. Guerreiro and Paulinho lead for Berg, followed by Silva and Carvalho for Porto. Then we find sprinters Silvestre and Coutinho. Avelino a bit further down surrounded by teammates.
And a bit of a weird sprint as the sprinters decide to discard their leadouts at two. Silvestre leads on the left side of the road, followed by Coutinho, Borges and Avelino. Paulinho and Carvalho sprint themselves as well on the right.
One kilometer, a left turn and a right turn remaining. Silvestre, Coutinho and Avelino virtually side-by-side, Borges and Carvalho on the line behind.
Despite having the inside line, Silvestre pays the price for starting the sprint early. Avelino has the advantage of the final turn going right.
And he uses it to his full advantage. Oscar Avelino is the new Portuguese Champion! Second place for Coutinho, Carvalho and Borges make it a Porto 1-3-4. Silvestre fades away to fifth place.

Portuguese National Time Trial Championship
Who will come out on top in the Time Trial Championship of Portugal?
Machado has the best time of the early starters. 1 hour, 9 minutes and 35 seconds.
Barbio is the closest one so far, 40 seconds behind Machado. Reis third at 1'24 for a virtual Porto 1-2-3.
Costa spoils the party. He is one second faster than Reis for third place.
Goncalves eleven seconds down on Machado at the first split. Reducing to four seconds at the second. A tie at the third, what will it be at the finish line? Two seconds faster, what a turnaround!
Final starter Oliveira. A horrible first time, seventeen seconds down on Machado and six on Goncalves. Unlike Goncalves he does not gain back time on the stage, losing three more to Machado to finish third.
It would be Oliveira's last ride in the Portuguese jersey, as he has to concede it to Jose Goncalves.
