A flat course for the Polish riders. Two riders stand out in that regard: Stepniak with a team surrounding him, and Ulanowski who had to hire a bunch of amateurs to lead him out.
It are the amateurs from Moser who actually form the first train, for Marycz. Stepniak and Banaszek are following, and Ulanowski stays behind.
Wisniowski is a strong flat rider, but not exactly a sprinter, yet he gives it a try. He also has some amateurs at his disposal, and they close the gap to the Moser train. Ulanowski ditches his own helpers and follows them, they're almost the same jersey anyway.
The Grieg amateur then sprint themselves, they did so well in chasing that they believe they can win. Stepniak says no, as he's already alongside them into the final kilometer. Franczak also throws himself into contention, the first time we see the Netia team full of professionals in action.
The amateurs were no match, and the others had bad positioning. But that does not devaluate Grzegorz Stepniak sprint to become the new Polish champion.
Ulanowski and Wisniowski were the victim of their own helpers, who betrayed them towards the end. Nevertheless they finish second and third, ahead of Franczak, Marycz and Banaszek.
Poland has some good time trialists, who will battle for their national title today.
The five final starters are the five main contenders. Rekita is the first rider to go under 1'10, with a time of 1 hour, 9 minutes and 53 seconds.
Piaskowy is the second-fastest at the moment, 24 seconds behind. He is six seconds faster than Kwiatkowski in third.
Wisniowski next, and he beats Rekita by 22 seconds.
Domagalski dances around Wisniowski. One second slower at the first checkpoint, one second faster at the second checkpoint, same time at the third checkpoint. At the finish he is two seconds slower, thus having to settle for second place at the moment.
Bodnar the current champion. 32 seconds faster than Wisniowski with only one rider remaining.
Marchewka the last challenger, but he's slower at every timing. 21 seconds at the line, which brings him second place.
Maciej Bodnar remains the best time trialist from Poland.
