Moroccan National Road Race Championship


Time for the Moroccan Championships, the riders are ready for action on this hilly course.

Some amateurs giving their service to the professional teams force a split in the peloton on the plateau after the second-a-last climb. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_prp.png Aadel got caught behind.

The front group slowed down a bit, allowing the others including Aadel to catch back up. As a consequence though the breakaway, consisting of only amateurs, increased their lead back up to 1'30 with only five kilometer to go.

Abelouache reaches the top of the climb more than half a minute ahead of Mraouni and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_del.png Zahiri, who got past the struggling Saber.

From then on it was a matter of reaching the finish for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_xwa.png Essaid Abelouache. He wins the Moroccan Championship! Mraouni takes second place, beating Zahiri in the sprint.

Current champion Er Rafai is without a contract this season, and thus is not allowed to participate in this race. Who will become his successor?
