The first mountain stage was quite tame, with the sprinters holding on quite well. That should be different today, as we head to Mount Revelstoke. Will we finally see the climbers at the top of the leaderboard?

While Mendes is the highest ranked rider in the KoM at the moment (3rd, 13 pts), teammate Minnard leads over the category three, Magnusson is the strongest on the category two. Zaini second at both climbs, thereby equaling pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_esc.png Van der Ploeg at 21 points, but there are still 20 points available on the hors category finish climb.

The Costa Rican joins the break at the foot of the climb. Magnusson attacks, and only Rojas Villegas has the strength to follow, Partridge trying but not strong enough. The peloton caught the breakaway bar Magnusson and Rojas Villegas at 13 kilometers, though the leaders only have 30 seconds left. Suaza leads by twenty seconds under the flag to Eastman and Yates, with Valls slightly in trouble. Group Berhane/Talansky at another twenty seconds.

This means Eastman is the new leader in the general classification, with Suaza second at 34 seconds and Yates third at a minute. Yates also takes the KoM classification with 22 points, one ahead of Zaini and Van der Ploeg.

Talansky with a late jump, passing Valls for fourth. Both are placed at 35 seconds, thus Valls fourth in the GC and Talansky fifth at 1'14 and 1'15.
