I'm kinda experienced playing PCM and editing databases.
Now my problem is with the new tranfer system in PCM18. I played my second season and i'm starting the tranferperiod right now.
On my bank account is a bit more than 4 mil. But still, the tranfersystem says that i need to stick with the budget provided by my sponsors, which is 533.000. I loose a lot of big riders because of this budget.
For example, i now have a salarybudget of 498.000 for all my riders. Together with staff i'm around the total provided by my sponsor. Although i have more than 4mil in total, showed in the lower banner of the main manager page.
My best rider, Tiesj Benoot had a salary of 85000 a year. I want to prolongue his contract to 104.000 a year. It worked because i'm still within the limits. But now i have only 75000 left for 9 riders and i really need a grand-tour rider but it's impossible with just 75000 left.
It's not that i have a very expensive team, not at all. So for me it's weird that i'm already out of budget since i have more then 4 mil on my manager page.
My question: how do i change my budget for transfers?
I don't have PCM 18 but that sounds like the usual PCM transfer system. Money in the bank won't help, the wage budget is determined by the sponsor and how happy he is. Also, it is determined by your current wage budget. So when you are doing well you'll often find that the sponsor is willing to increase the budget quite a lot but won't allow you to use it all because of your current wage budget. It's a weird system, but it's always been like that.
If that is the case and you don't really want to go over the budget the easiest solution is to go into the editor and pick one rider and temporarily increase his wage a lot - say from 10,000 to 100,000. That makes the game "think" you are already spending more and will immediately allow you to spend more for future contracts. Once your team is finished, go back and reduce the wage of the one rider again.
Also, 75,000 is still plenty of money. It'd be even more money if you don't extend with Benoot, I never pay a rider that much. I'm sure you can find somebody just as/nearly as good for much less.
I am not sure, but a thing that you could do is also fire all your staff. Which makes some more room in your budget for riders, then sign contracts with the riders. Once done hire the new staff. Cause I though (not 100% sure) that you can still give them a contract, even if you passed your budget.
