Team Rating Swisslion Cycling Team *** Andorra Project - InGamba *** Adastra - Argon 18 ** Carlsberg - Danske Bank ** Compal-Merida ** Valio - DeLaval ** GCN ProTeam ** Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ * BNZ Cycling Team * Campari - Super Dry * Banco de Bogota *
Welcome to Stage 1 of the Giro Del Trentino, which features a 28+ km Team Time Trial. The teams are ready to start, so here we go.
This is interesting as Andorra are the first team to start and should be one of the favourites for the stage win. They go through the first checkpoint with a time of 11'13".
Becherovka are much slower, as they lose 32" in the first split itself.
Compal and Cerverica go through the first check, down 17" and 45" respectively. Not a bad time so far from Compal that.
Meiji lose 35", down 3" to Becherovka.
Banco de Bogota lose 26" at the first split, unfortunately away from the cameras.
Swisslion are second now, 12" down on Andorra at the first intermediate.
Carlsberg and Team B&O lose 18" and 26" at the first split, putting the former into 4th place for now.
Zalgiris is 30" down at the first split already. Risa Argon are a further 3" slower.
Equinor clock the exact same time, 30" down on Andorra.
GCN are faster by 5" while 29" is the time loss for Telia.
BNZ tie with Carlsberg at +18" to Andorra.
Campari with a super time at the first check, just 9" off Andorra.
Oberfranken are next past the time check. They post a time 23" off the pace. Indosat are next, a further 4" slower.
ENI-MOL don't don't look likely to challenge today. They're 37" down at the first check.
Ayubowan are better, but not by much. They are losing 25" at the first split.
Adastra are 10" down, which makes them sit in 3rd for the moment.
Repsol are quite some way down, having lost 23" already.
Valio with a superb ride so far, ties with Campari for 2nd place.
Here are the standings after the first time-check:
Andorra are first through the second intermediate with a time of 22'23".
Compal improve as they pass the 2nd intermediate, now just 11" down on Andorra.
Swisslion have gone 2nd, 10" down on Andorra, pushing Compal down to 3rd.
GCN is 26" down on the leaders at the second time-check, which puts them in 4th place for the moment.
Campari haven't done so well in the second sector, and are now 25" down.
Adastra have improved in the second sector to catch up with Campari at 25".
Repsol lose 23" in the second sector, identical to their first sector loss. They're now slipping down the standings.
An update on the standings after the second intermediate split.
Andorra's time to beat at the finish is 33'30".
Compal finish 34" down. Swisslion come home in provisional 2nd, having lost 18".
Zalgiris lose 1'34" at the finish, not a great time for them.
BNZ get into the Top 10 with a time of 34'14".
Campari's time of 34'09 puts them into the Top 5 for the moment.
Oberfranken not challenging at the top today. Their time is 1'26" slower than the best.
Indosat don't do much better, just 3" in fact.
Adastra get into the Top 5 with a time of 34'06", pushing Campari down to 6th. They did however drop Bardet in the final sector.
Valio is the last team to finish, and go 3rd, 29" slower than Andorra.
Andorra Project - InGamba win the stage today with Hugues Mottin taking the leader's jersey.
Anacona, Sebastian Henao, Hirschlein and Atapuma are some of the other strong climbers dropped by their respective teams on the stage.
