Brutal Sormano, Nibali and Pinot in front chased by Roglic. Valverde group 40 seconds behind.

I really like the rider Pinot has become over the last couple of years.

Pinot wins. Nibali 2nd. Teuns wins the sprint of the chase group for 3rd.
Awesome race.

Would have loved to see Nibali complete his comeback with a Lombardia victory, but I'm happy for Pinot. Well deserved

Happy for Tibopino. He really came into his own in the past months. Giro 2019 could well end being a great fight between Yatesy and Pinot.

Could Pinot's lack of TT ability mean he could be better off going for the classics and shorter stage races rather than the GT's? It's going to take a really light TT GT for Pinot to have any chance against the likes of Froome, Thomas and Dumoulin.

I definitely see him more as a classic rider than a gc contender. He is more spontaneous and emotionally influenced than other rolleurs (which will be dominant again after 10 years absence). I really love his aggressive style. One of the best when he is on top level. If I was Pinot I would saddle for the ardennes classics, smaller races like Paris-Nice and autumn classics like lombardia, WC (if the route is suitable) etc.
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.
