No surprise to see Coppel and Zmorka on top with Durbridge following. Next to home rider Sergent the most complete time trialists with Ford being rather one-dimensional in TTs but still delivering regularly.
Viennet as first of the big time trialists. So far Vingerling leading with the same time over Oba and 10s ahead of Riesebeek and Kiwi Reddish.
Not the best so far.
So we see a new best easily. 8s faster time and Viennet takes the hot seat.
Lo Cicero is a decent prologue rider and has done well in the past. 3th for him, 11s off and this might mean, he is in bonus second range tomorrow!
Tennant and Li meanwhile also in and actually solid times in +6 and +3s.
Schädlich next and he beats Viennet`s time by 1s! New leader but still room to improve with better riders to come and Lo Cicero must be afraid to lose the 20s range.
Mottin and Meyer also within the 5s range behind him a bit later.
Sergent on the road and the Kiwi champ is pushed by the crowd. His time is great and while being listed 1st at first, the officialy later put him behind Schädlich in 2nd and s.t.
That was close!
Another Kiwi specialist for Today, Gunman comes in as 8th and +6s behind Stannard a bit ahead of him.
Hamza likes short prologues more than the longer TTs. Though in general a good time trialist and Reddit`s hope. 3rd for him, just 1s off! Faster than Viennet though.
Aussie Champ Durbridge with a good ride and he beats the best by Schädlich. 4s faster!
Cornu very strong as well and goes in between. 2s to the best time but also 2s faster than Schädlich/Sergent!
The overperformer Ford is back and he is showing that a time trialist doesn`t need anything but this one strength. Same time as Durbridge but put into 2nd!
Zmorka next and as expected being faster than Durbridge. 3s in the end and a new best time!
Coppel though doesn`t get nervous and immediately goes faster again. Another 2s and this is the stage win as only...
... Cavendish is left, who is losing 18s and indeed keeps the 20s range for the sprint different to Lo Cicero who is 2s above!
Other sprinters in the range are Meyer at 14s, Vingerling at 19s and Hochman at 20s.
