The second stage already the hilly one and in especially for pure climbers such as Suaza or Ratiy, this could be the end of their GC chances.
Top favourites on todays stage is the Cerveceria duo Teuns/ Hoelgaard with Hategeka following.
Though also the Delvaux duo Kadri/ Vichot must be watched as they probably have the best backup stats.
Next to Kadri it`s Favilli and Geschke with a great hill sprint.
Again three in the break with Puusepp again involved to defend his KoM jersey.
Wahyudi is challenging him though and already did beat him at the early KoM.
Magnusson as third but weakest puncheur.
And Wahyudi remains a tough challenger. First of those 6 Cat.3's in a short time and he beats Puusepp once again.
ENI-MOL the main team to chase! In fact 6 riders of them which means only two riders are in the peloton, which is Pomoshnikov and Szalontay ahead of him.
Wahyudi also wins the next two and with 2 more to come, he has now gapped the others.
46s to them and another 2min to the peloton with 50km to go.
It`s now 33pts for Puusepp and 30 already for Wahyudi, which is not much of a gap.
In fact passed already at the next as Wahyudi taking 6 more points which the other two being caught before by the peloton! Hence we have a new leader in the mountain ranking.
Behind we see Delvaux working for their dup and it`s Kreder/Grellier in the front while also Rothaus is doing some small GC duties with Ockeloen. But no real threat today despite maybe Mollema or Minnard as big outsiders only.
Teuns though did not want a slowish pace at teh final climb. 2,4km and 7,8% in average is quite a good opportunity to attack.
Kadri was the only one able to follow and is now hanging behind him but really needs the top to come fast as Teuns pace brings him to the limit.
Hategeka has missed the move but attacked on the last meters of the climb and is trying to join them.
In front we can see that Teuns has opened a 6s gap but Kadri is one of the best descenders and should join soon again.
Then 37s to Hategeka and behind him the still big group of 108 riders including race leader Coutinho, who has not given up yet on defending the jersey.
Only 5km left though.
1,6km to go and Kadri is back in business and might be in the best possible position right now.
38s behind Hategeka, who is having a 20s gap to the 101 rider peloton.
Biggest news that the pure climbers are still up there and hence might hope for a big GC coup with only suited stages to come.
700m and the duo starts the sprint. One of them will win the stage and likely get the GC as well as the gap behind is still big enough.
300m and it`s head to head with Kadri having the advantage of accelerating out of the slipstream as also being the better sprinter anyway.
And while Teuns gave him a great fight and it was super close, it`s the French to take the win. A big one for Delvaux, who are one of the top favourites for promotion.
Teuns as better climber though with the needed gap GC wise as the toughest climbs are yet to come, where he will also struggle. Kadri`s mountain skills likely too weak to play a huge role later on.
Hategeka simply did go too late. He comes in as 3rd with a 33s gap. Which is still 19s ahead of the peloton!
Behind Rodrigues with a rare sprint appearance as 4th ahead of Cortes and Lopez.
GC wise the top3 today also are the new top3 in the overall ahead of Coutinho, who did well to stay with the best. And also Suaza and co. remained with them and could fight for the GC on the final day.
