after playing PCM for a few years, I wonder how and when (young) talented riders' skills grow.
do i have to let my talented riders participate more in stages, train them in a particular way: what do I have to do to stimulate their development and when do their skills grow? |

Two ways, one is to train them with good trainers, but more importantly, they have to race. Riders gain experience for all races, but you want to follow this for extra bonus:
EXP Level 1: Ride .2 Races
EXP Level 2: Ride .1 Races
EXP Level 3: Ride .HC Races
EXP Level 4: Ride PT and former PT races |

They took it out and i got no idea why. It was one of the best features to control your rider development... same as percentage progress which i liked much more or stage races training program which is missing too.
But yes, stars seems to be more "realistic". |

Does anyone know if the different training categories train more than the skill it specifies? Someone posted a table of the old one in 2007, wonder if it still holds.
I opened the db and checked, the same table is still there, but the names are still the same as well so maybe Flat = Fighter (2007), Cobbles = Northern Classic (2007)?

The reason they took out experience was because the riders grew to predictable, now they bloom later or earlier and is much more realistic. |

Look in STA_training_exercise if you want to understand it better.
A quick overview of the meaning of the names this year:
Flat = Baroudeur (Fighter)
Hills = Puncheur
Sprints - Sprinter
Time trial = CLM (Time trial)
Cobblestones = Classiques_Nord (Northern Classics)
Mountain = Grimpeur (Mountain)
and then I didn't think there were any more options in this years version? But in STA_training_exercise there is another option - Courses_Etapes - which clearly, in my view, would be stage racer. Maybe they forgot to actually impliment it in the game? Or I did actualy miss an option out.
