2 km left, distance still 28” as the favourites is about to start their sprint, this may turn out to be close between the break and the sprinters.

It is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Merino Criado leading for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Degenkolb in front of the pursuit, behind Degenkolb side by side pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Coquard and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_vlv.png Ahlstrand, between them pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Van Stayen close.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Races/PT/Qtar/S3/6.jpg

1.5 km left, the breakaway not caught yet, but just 30-50 meters ahead. They may make a fine stage result if they got anything left as everyone had a hard day.

Three riders had accelerated past the Iberia train. Slightly in front close to the right side banner, now pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Coquard, but pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_vlv.png Ahlstrand and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_mos.png Bewley no more than a cycle-length behind.

Then 5-6 meters down to pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Degenkolb who has passed his leadout, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_hug.png Kristoff, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Merino Criado and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Van Stayen 2-3 meters behind Degenkolb.

Another 4-6 meter to pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_aeg.png Swift, and also about 5 meters between Swift and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Dzamastagic, another about 5 meters down to pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Eislers

The next group measured to +49” with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_akm.png Ciolek in front.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Races/PT/Qtar/S3/7.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Coquard first under the red kite, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_mos.png Bewley have passed pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_vlv.png Ahlstrand all very close.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Degenkolb still 4th with from left to right pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_des.png Venturini, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Daniel, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_hug.png Kristoff and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Van Stayen 2-3 meters behind.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Merino Criado between this group and the pursuit coming closer led by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_akm.png Ciolek, now measured to 24”

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Races/PT/Qtar/S3/8.jpg

600 meters left

Still pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Coquard in the lead with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_mos.png Bewley close.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_vlv.png Ahlstrand has faded a little while pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Degenkolb looks strong closing in on the leaders.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Van Stayen a little faster than pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_hug.png Kristoff, respectively in 5th and 6th position.
Breakaway riders pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_des.png Venturini and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Daniel also keeping up the pace still in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_aeg.png Swift. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_min.png Lindeman and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_grg.png Ringheim round of the group, just a few meters behind Swift.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Races/PT/Qtar/S3/9.jpg

300 meters left, it is still pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Coquard in the lead and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_mos.png Bewley 2nd , but a very fast pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Degenkolb has passed pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_vlv.png Ahlstrand now very close.

In 5th pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Van Stayen also getting significantly closer, while pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_hug.png Kristoff although still 6th has lost momentum falling 6-7 meters back compared to Stayen.

Behind Kristoff pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_des.png Venturini close, clearly best placed of the remaining riders, the others in the group side by side, 6-7 meters further back

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Races/PT/Qtar/S3/10.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_itd.png Degenkolb wins at Al Gharafa Stadium, this was his 5th stage win in Tour of Qatar the 2nd in this edition. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Coquard 2nd and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_mos.png Bewley takes the last podium, in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_evo.png Van Stayen 4th and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_vlv.png Ahlstrand rounds of top 5.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_aeg.png Swift round of top 10 in fromt of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Micro/mg18_fes.png Daniel.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2018/Races/PT/Qtar/S3/13.jpg

Some managers having riders in top 11, may find it hard to accept that no time gap was measured between the first 37 riders, but they did get quit close in the end.

John Degenkolb take over the race lead with 5” to Sam Bewley and 13” to Bryan Coquard.

John Degenkolb also leading the point classification with 1 point to Bewley

Iberia - Team Degenkolb took over the team lead from Moser - Sygic

Rick Zabel leads the youth classification, still the only young rider to take bonus seconds.
