Third stage in a row and yet another pure flat one. Kip and Von Hoff with one stage win each, Modolo yet to finish better than 3rd.
Lots of riders tried to join the break but none was successful. 35km in and everyone back in the peloton.
Immediately Tivani attacked and went solo. He is allowed to go for now.
Kip - Von Hoff and Kip - Keough take the remaining points at the sprints. With 28km to go a bi tbelow 2min to the Azteca rider in front.
Not yet the finish. 6km to go and the last lap with Tivoni being almost caught.
Bianchi Racing for Brus and today also Festina for Kip with the sprint trains.
Leezer - Vasilyev - Brus with Keough behind.
Simon - Tleubayev - Kip on the other side a bit behind with Jones and McLay behind.
A bit behind them the BNZ train with Aasvold - Baterdene - Von Hoff and most others in that row such as Dupont, Breschel, Modolo, Sweeting and Bogdanovics.
Tleubayev as expected the better leadout and they pass the Bianchi train.
Jones on the right with McLay and Keough on the left on themselves.
Modolo a bit behind
Jones in an unfortunate position acting as leadout for McLay while Kip can still wait behind Tleubayev. Keough in the wind for too long already while Modolo and Brus are behind. First clearly not having the leadout he needs. Also Von Hoff today not ideally placed.
Jones gapped McLay from the first position but can he also match Kip, who waited until now to go around Tleubayev?
Hardly...Kip in a level of his own today. Breschel, Modolo, Von Hoff, Brus aiming for 2nd only now with Jones struggling.
Kip takes the win. His second one already and remains in the GC lead with the first uphill stage to come tomorrow.
Brus with a nice comeback in the end as 2nd while Von Hoff at 3rd today. Dupont yet again impressive as 4th ahead of Breschel just as strong while Modolo at 6th not as strong.
The fast pace in the end was too much for many riders and a gap opened in the middle of the peloton.
Some riders on the wrong side of the split lose 1:44 such as Atapuma or Costagli.
