Talking to Eurosport Sporting director Mike Elsden said the following “ Since the world announcement of our new team we have been working around the clock to get everything ready for the new season I have appointed various new staff members ranging from trainers to scouts and I believe these new additions will be key to our success not only short but also long term.

On top of new staff members we have been working extremely closely with our new bike manufacture " Lector " & wheel supplier Fulcrum which saw us using a new prototype bike instead of the 2010 Ghost frame on our recent training camp to L’Aquila Italy

::::RACE::::
image.ibb.co/nPaCy9/Gravel.png
The Gravel and Tar Classic race is a 130km international elite men’s cycling race with five gravel sectors making up approximately 40km.
It is gaining the reputation as the hardest single day road race in the Oceania region, the riders selected to represent the team are as follows:

Masaki YAMAMOTO Fumiyuki BEPPU Yukiya ARASHIRO Tatsuki AMAGOI Mark DONOVAN Michele GAZZOLI

We came into the event high on a wave unfortunately leading up to the race we lost Gijs LEEMRIJZE to a sickness bug which altered our race plans for the day, As the race got under way it was clear half the team was not up to full fitness however with the train in full effect there was an outside chance of a podium, This was all to change when the first of 2 crashes happened involving 5 of the team in a 30 rider crash pile up, Later in the race once all our riders had recovered and returned to the peloton we was once again hit with bad luck with 3 or the riders going down in an accident which wiped out 13 riders.

Along with building the foundation of Canon Lucozade with a mixture of young & mature talent we have also set up a development squad which will compete under the name Lucozade Canon.

With the presence we have in Japan it would be scandalous not to look here for riders however we must also appreciate that Europe are currently leading the way with their approach to cycling.

With such a positive result in our first race & our development team going along nicely the team entered this race with high expectations however with fitness gearing towards Tour de Tochigi. In the end we just did not have the power in the legs to put up any sort of threat and lost connection with the peloton around 20km left to go mark, I believe each rider gave 100% however tactically we got it wrong today & i must hold up my hands to the team & friends.

Yes Yes YES!! today's ride has seen one our riders pick up the teams first Continental Points 20 ( Thomas Pidcock ) & currently ranked 77th. We entered the race with the focus on a stage win for the following riders Yukiya Arashiro,Michele Gazzoli, Tatsuki Amagoi. However after miss calculation they fell behind peloton and even with help from other times in constant relays we could just could not bridge the gap. Gijs Leemrijze who spent the day at the front of the peloton ended up being the lead ride out rider fron Thomas Pidcock who had originally be set a " Free role " for the day. Unfortunately Pidcock was caught right on the line and ended up finishing fourth where i understand the rider is disappointed this is such a huge achievement for the team

We entered Umag on such a high after Pidcock picked up our first points in the previous race, the game plan we had for this race was for all riders to ride near the front of the peloton with Masaki Yamamoto doing relays at the front of the group.
However after an accidental crash we saw Yamamoto drop behind the group by over 10 minutes this led to a slight change of plan and we brought all riders to the front with a lead out train of Fazzolin - Pidcock - Arensman - Donovan with 15km to go. unfortunately with the change of plan and missing a rider we just wasn't strong enough to win the stage however having 4/5 riders in the top 15 is another big achievement & showing that we are heading in the right direction !!.

International Rhodes Grand Prix 1.2

preview.ibb.co/mPo7Az/train.png

The team travelled to Rhodes to compete in the Grand Prix, We came into this the game plan of all riders to ride at the front of the peloton this way we can control the pace while also hoping to stay out of trouble. The leader for the day and the setup was built around Julius JOHANSEN with Michele GAZZOLI there just incase the race came down to a sprint. Unfortunately we couldn't hold out for the win and came 3rd in the race HOWEVER this is a historic moment for the team as we came top of the Team Standings.

Tour de Taiwan (5 stages ) 2.1

Stage1-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We go in this tour with the Lector 2018 model and the feedback from the team is that they have a better feeling from the bike than the previous 2011 model which we have used in past races, We entered this race as favourites and going by the setup of stage 1 we got this right by getting all the jersey's & the first Stage WIN for Canon Lucozade.
Yukiya ARASHIRO will go down in the history books by taking the first win for the team after following the train created.

A mountain top finish which for our team is not ideal however the team supported each well until the later km in the race where we just didnt have enough power to catch up with the break away group which had the yellow jersey rider in it.

Stage5-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This tour started off so well however race after race the other teams started marking out whatever moved the team made , We tried to get a rider in the breakaway however the peloton would not allow any of our riders to ride away, Once we sat away. Once we sat back and a break away was made we did try and chase it down however no teams was willing to help and sat back.

Overall this Tour has been successful as we got our first ever win & in our 2nd race weekend brought back the Team standings first place.

Following the end of this event the team doctor confirmed that Fumiyuki Beppu has caught a virus while being on this tour.

Popolarissima 1.2

After such a positive tour we came into this with a sense of winning this event & with a sponsor goal of Top5 we thought this was achievable. unfortunately during the race our main rider who we set up to win the race crashed Arashiro, With this in mind we tried to change the plan but the decision to start the team train at 10km was a wrong decision which resulted in our riders being over taken in the last 1.5km

With the crash we did not meet the sponsor's goal however for the 3rd event in a row the team has won the team standings so this certainly shows we are doing something GREAT.

Tour Cycliste International de la Pharmacie Centrale de Tunisie 2.2

With 2 riders feeling great we had our leader for the Arashiro set-up with a fail safe of our sprinter Gazzoli. Unfortunately due to a tactical error our team train broke up around 3km mark. I would personally like to apologise to Gazzoli as we didn't put him in any sort of position to win the race but he done his best and got 7th

#Stage 2 would not load so kept this to 1 day.

We came into the race as favourites and we are finding it hard to get any of our plans into motion however today's focus was to achieve the mountain jersey but doing this the race ended up opening up for an actual stage win, As teams around us didnt w ant to take on our train - Great lead out from Pidcock but congratulations to Julius Johansen.
