Game crashes during 3D-race
ramoserhard
Hello

During every 3D-race i play, the game crashes. This happens after 10-15 minutes, and the screen goes black and I get an error message saying PCM.exe has a problem and need to close.

I know that others have the same problem, but I havent found a solution for it. I know Vista-users run in Administrator-mode, but i play with XP.

It doesnt matter what graphic i run and my pc is more than good enough for the game. I have also installed the newest drivers.

Please Help!

I've tried different graphics, but the problem happens every time. Even when i use the worst graphic.

Appreciate help, but i dont think its the graphic, because the game crashes after 10-15 minutes no matter what kind of stage i play.

What's your graphic card?

ATI Mobility Radeon X1600

It's not a great card, but i run every game pretty good. If i can play CoD, i guess i can play PCM Smile.

i got Intel dual 2.16 GHz and good RAM (not sure how much).

It's a laptop, and not made for gaming, but good enough for games like Call of Duty 4 with high graphic, so I dont think thats the problem.

I had another PC that could run PCM, and that was not a good computer at all. Unfortunately i dont have that PC here.

Really appreciate that people are trying to help, because i really want to play PCM.

COd 4 yes. Great game Wink

I have service pack 2 i think. You know how i can check? Got the computer last august, but dont know if its been a new service pack after that.

Dont think it would help re-install, unfortunately. Others who had the same problem had no luck with that. Had the same problem with PCM 07, and re-installing did not work then.

You don't need anything beyond SP2 (whatever you do don't get SP3!).

The game has only crashed once for me and I have an ancient graphics card - Radeon X300 (until Thursday Grin ).

My best guess would be you may have a bad stick of RAM.

yea search how much RAm you've got.
although if you can run COD4. it couldn't be the ram Sad
sorry but im out of ideas

Im guessing a bad stick of RAM as well. If you have two blocks, try removing one of them. If it still persists, remove the other (well, after putting the first one back in). If it still doesnt work, its not the RAM obviously.

I have about 1GB DDR2-ram i think. Thats good enough right ?

Dont think its the hardware

Waghlon
But thats just the capacity. It could be broken afterall.

if it would be broken , he wouldn't be able to play COD4

i think its your RAm that reaches around 95%
PCM 08 with me uses sometimes up to 700 mb RAM

But when the minimum requirements says 1GB ram, then that should be enough, shouldnt it ?

Ennyzor
I played the whole first season without the game crashing even once, I started to think that they finally fixed that problem, however now that I reached season 2, there are several stages and races that you simply cannot race yourself. For example, tried running Milan-San Remo 2009 several times, with different graphic options etc. And it crash as soon as you hit the last 2km, every single time. Happened in other stages aswell. There are two stages so far in the Giro 09 that crash at the same point aswell.

:/

ramoserhard
What stages doesnt work in the Giro, Ennyzor?

Becuase I finally got the game to work and played the game without problems.. But suddenly the game started crashing again. The first stage it chrashed on was the secong stage of the Giro (first season). Tried playing it again and it chrashed. The third stage also chrashed and i havent tried to play the game after that.
