Spoiler
Cocoa's Fitness
Stage Summary
Peter Kennaugh hitting the tarmac
Winner: André Greipel (Lotto Soudal)
Peter Kennaugh and Diego Rosa of Team Sky crashed early on in a chaotic start to the opening stage, both got back on but suffered for remainder of day.
Jef Van Meirhaeghe of Topsport Vlaanderen - Baloise was in out in front in a long solo effort only to be reeled in for André Greipel to win the sprint finish.
Rosa finishing four mintues forty seconds after the peloton alongside team-mates Owain Doull and Kenny Elissonde.

Cocoa's Thoughts
"Happy get first race day out the way. It was uneventful. I looked after Knees as told. Not sure what happened to Diego, Doull and Elissonde at the end of the race.
I made a few small mental mistakes today. Tomorrow I will be more vocal on the team radio if I feel same."

Stage 2: Nîmes - Saint Ambroix
Spoiler
Cocoa's Fitness
Stage Summary
Winner: André Greipel (Lotto Soudal)
Frederik Veuchelen of Wanty - Groupe Gobert and Jarl Salomein of Topsport Vlaanderen - Baloise spent most of the stage out in front collecting 12 and 8 points respectively.
The sprint finish was a repeat of stage 1 with Greipel pipping Matteo Pelucchi to the line.
Concerns on Diego Rosa for Team Sky as once again he finishes well behind the peleton.
Stage Results
Cocoa's Thoughts
"Looked after Knees up until 50km from the end. I heard on the team radio Diego was falling off the back. I asked and was given permission to drop back and help.
He is in terrible shape. I hope he has a virus as the team will be investigating why he is riding so poor."

Stage 3: Bessèges - Bessèges
Spoiler
Cocoa's Fitness
Stage Summary
Winner: André Greipel (Lotto Soudal)
For the third day in a row André Greipel powered past his rivals to take the stage victory. He now has a sixteen second lead going into tomorrow's stage where he is likely to lose the leader's jersey.
Stage Results
Cocoa's Thoughts
"Today I was told to focus on Pete. He told me to ride easy until the last 30km, then we moved up towards the front.
Deignan and Elissonde both crash with around 11km to go, which benefited Diego who had another shocker.
Not much for me to do. Fetch water bottles. Protect. Learning how hard the ride is."

Stage 4: Goudargues - Laudun
Spoiler
Cocoa's Fitness
Stage Summary
Visconti wins crash heavy stage
Winner: Giovanni Visconti (Movistar Team)
Giovanni Visconti proved the 'experts' wrong who predicated that a breakaway would stick today.
After big pulls from teams Movistar and Lotto Soudal to pull it back, Visconti had enough poise to take the stage.
Stage Results
Cocoa's Thoughts
"What a experience! I crashed. Looked after Knees then Pete today.
130km out we were one minute forty-five seconds behind the peleton, but I sat on the front and steadily pulled us back.
Went into the red getting Pete to the front and he showed no interest, so I struggled the last few km.
Enjoyable race."

On a positive, I didn't finish last in the stage or of my team.
