I saw this on the official Cyanide forum, this guy is a geniousB)

The graphics genious I talk about is Grabba, here is what he posted:

Hello everyone!

This should be the right forum-section for it, and I hope I am allowed to open this thread.
Since I have bought the PCM on the day of its official release I have been modding it. I have been introducing my mods in the German community right from the start, and now I want to share them with the international community.
I created a website (quite poor, but who cares?) where I put all these mods and some others from the German community for download. I called it Pro Cycling Manger 2008 - Mod Archive (so that is where the thread name comes from).
If you find any bugs: Please report! Feel free to post this in other PCM-Forums as well (but please just tell me so I can read about feedback and bug reports aso. there as well). And now I hope some of you will enjoy my mods. Smile

Pro Cycling Mager 2008 - Mod Archive

Monte Paschi Eroica
This mod adds the gravel roads to the race "Monte Paschi Eroica" as they are in reality (see here or here).
It does not affect any other pavé-races (like Paris-Roubaix, Ronde) nor anything else. I will maybe create a new version of this mod in the future (I have found a ground that might fit the race better; I will still have to take a photo and edit it, though). Nothing sure yet, but I am thinking about it. Anyways, this should do for first.
There are two versions (High Resolutin (4096x1024) and Default Resolution (2048x512, cyanide default)). Whichever of these two you chose, you will have to download the renewed stagefiles in both cases. More info and screenshots can be found on the downloads-page.

Plan de Corones (Mountain Time Trial)
This mod adds the real gravel-mountain-path to the Giro d'Italia Mountain Time Trial to the Plan de Corones. Installation, texture resolutions and so on are the same as for Monte Paschi Eroica (see above).
Maybe there will also be another version of this with snow around the mountaintop in the future, though I am not yet sure about this either. Again, more info and more screenshots are to be found on the download page.

Plan de Corones - Snow Extenison

This mod is kind of an extension of Plan de Corones mod. It adds snow to the sides of the gravel road (in the high regions of the stage, which is above 2200 metres). There is also a new snow-texture for the landscape (which is the mountain slopes) for this mod (so no cyanide-default snow). This mod does not affect any other mods.
There are two different versions of this mod, differing in the snow at the sides of the road. Snow at the sides of the roads in version one perfectly matches the snow texture of the environment but does not look too great. Version 2 is looking a lot better but does not fit too great to the look of the environment. Version two also has kind of a simulating twinkle-effect for the snow at the sides of the roads (which you will only recognise when looking at it from close up). You can chose the version you like better.
At this place: Special thanks to PepsiLight for motivating me to do this mod, and to PepsiLight, cunego111 and miya for their pre-release-feedback.
Here are three screenshots (click to enlarge) (first two of v2, third one of v1), for more please visit the downloads site. Installation instructions and further information can be found there as well. The original Plan de Corones Version is not needed for this mod.

Better Sunflowers
The original sunflowers of the game are changed. This is already the second version (first version to be found here), but I am still not entirely satisfied, so I am most likely going to create a third version some time in the future.
Textures have a higher resolution than the cyanide default ones and so needs some more computing power.

Wooden Fence
I just changed the texture of the wooden fence. This version has a much higher resolution than the original one, so it needs some more computing power.

Fixed Grass
I found a small bug in the original cyanide grass textures. The alphamap was move aside for some pixels in each texture. A small animated gif-file explains the problem.
I told one of our German Betatesters about this, so probably Cyanide already knows about this. Anyways, I simply fixed this on my own, so here you go:

Performance Mod 1
This is a mod for all those with very slow computers who can just handle the RSM at low settings. It forces the PCM to not render much of the environment around the streets (sunflowers, crop fields aso.). The negative side of this is, of course, that these things are no longer visible. Trees and default grass are not affected.
This results in a performance increase of up to 20% (tested by PepsiLight (thanks again) and myself) when driving through a sunflower-field for example. But of course, using this mod, there are no longer any sunflowers. So in fact: Better performance for less graphical objects.

The archives should all contain the folder structure PCM uses as well (so if in the archive you downloaded theere is CM_Stages\textures\xxx.dds) the file xxx.dds must go in the CM_Stages\textures folder. There also is an explanation on the download-site and in the readme.
If there is any mod without such instructions just tell me and I will add them.

Reminder this is all work by Grabba

Grabba
Finally I have registered here. Thanks for all the kind words on the mods. Always great to see when others like my mods.
And to clear that: I am neither miyas father, nor son, nor uncle, nor mother... erm, yeah. I just got to know him some days ago, so we are definitely no relatives.

Yesterday I released a new version of Plan de Corones, now with snow at the mountaintop. I especially made this for PepsiLight's Database which he has released about an hour ago, but I have also released it as a standalone-version. So for those who want to have snow atop Plan de Corones: Please enjoy. Wink
I myself am not yet perfectly satisfied with it. You may see that the snow besides the roads is rather gray than anything else. In the texture it is almost white. This is not my fault but caused by cyanides illumination. Maybe some day in the future I will manage to fix this as well, but not now. Ah, and of course the snow-textures have only been designed for this mod. Cyanide-Default snow rather looked like a mixture of blue and grey.

One more thing before I come to the snowy Plan de Corones: Finding this picture today (it is just located somewhere near the velodrome in Roubaix) I made an attempt of implementing it into PCM 2008. And it worked out quite fine. You can get a first impression of it on this screenshot. Not yet a great model, but I will try to improve it a bit and then it will be a part of my improved Paris-Roubaix-Race (planning some more things for Paris-Roubaix; but that will take a lot more time do finish).
Anyways, here is Plan de Corones with snow. Please enjoy (Addy, might you maybe add it to the first post? Would be great!)
