We all know Track cycling rules on PCM08, but its still possible in PCM06 and it is time for the Management Game Track World Championships. There are to be 4 definate events: Sprint, Individual Pursuit, Keirin and the Kilometre.
Sprint
In the Sprint there are 16 competitors and it is a knockout process. It is a simple concept. Rider A starts the sprint with 3km to go, Rider B follows. With 1.5km to go, Rider B starts Sprinting. First to the line wins. The roles are then reversed to make it fair and if it is then 1-1, both line up and sprint from 3km to go. The winner progresses. Jason Kenny won the qualifiers and he is one of 4 Brits in the event – along with Mark Cavendish, Ben Swift, and Chris Hoy. Olympic champion Theo Bos is the favourite to win, while Mikhail Bourgoin should do well – although he struggled in qualifying.
The draw:
Jason Kenny (GBR - Slipstream)
Alex Rasmussen (DEN - Virgin)
Graeme Brown (AUS - White Bear Steyr)
Mike Friedman (USA - Slipstream)
Kam-po Wong (HKG - British Airways)
Aleksei Markov (RUS - British Airways)
Theo Bos (NED - Nintendo)
Vasilis Anastopoulos (GRE - Gatorade)
Samai Samai (INA - British Airways)
Ben Swift (GBR - Procycling)
Chris Hoy (GBR - British Airways)
Matthew Goss (AUS - Skittles)
Allan Davis (AUS - Fed-Ex)
Mikhail Bourgoin (FRA - La Gazetta)
Mark Cavendish (GBR - Eurosport)
Alois Kankovský (CZE - Fed-Ex)
Keirin
In the Keirin the 6 riders follow each other in a randomly generated order and with 3km to go Rider A sprints, Rider B goes with 2.6km to go, Rider C with 2.2km to go, Rider D with 1.8km to go, Rider E with 1.4km to go and Rider F with 1km to go. There are 4 heats and the Top 3 in each progress to the semi finals. The Top 3 in each Semis then go onto the final to battle for Gold. Like in the sprint, favourite is the Olympic champion Theo Bos who won the Olympic final ahead of Mark Cavendish and Greg Henderson. The Kiwi only qualified for this event when Mongolian Khayabkhyrvaa Uugunbayar withdrew due to riding in the E3 Prijs race.
Here is the draw for the first round:
Theo Bos (NED - Nintendo)
Chris Hoy (GBR - British Airways)
Vasilis Anastopoulos (GRE - Gatorade)
Mike Friedman (USA - Slipstream)
Matt Rowe (GBR - Wiggle)
Vladimir Djudja (UKR - No Team)
Jason Kenny (GBR - Slipstream)
Kam-po Wong (HKG - British Airways)
Alois Kankovský (CZE - Fed-Ex)
Mikhail Bourgoin (FRA - La Gazetta)
Ashley Hutchinson (AUS - Nintendo)
Gregory Hendersen (NZL - IrnBru)
Mark Cavendish (GBR - Eurosport)
Graeme Brown (AUS - White Bear Steyr)
Ben Swift (GBR - Procycling)
Matthew Goss (AUS - Skittles)
Erik Mohs (GER - IrnBru)
Brad Huff (USA - Slipstream)
Samai Samai (INA - British Airways)
Allan Davis (AUS - Fed-Ex)
Alex Rasmussen (DEN - Virgin)
Aleksei Markov (RUS - British Airways)
Russell Downing (GBR - Procycling)
Juan Esteban Arango (COL - Ernst&Young)
And the draw for the Semis:
1st Heat 1
1st Heat 2
2nd Heat 3
2nd Heat 4
3rd Heat 1
3rd Heat 2
1st Heat 3
1st Heat 4
2nd Heat 1
2nd Heat 2
3rd Heat 3
3rd Heat 4
Individual Pursuit
This time it is in TT mode, 2 riders will line up with one lap (Approx 3km) to go. The game is paused, I set the 2 riders effort's to 99% and click play. The first rider to reach the finish, is the winner and progresses through. By clashing with the Criterium International, the Track Worlds lost 6 riders who qualified: Ignatiev, Cornu, McGee, Phinney, Stannard and Markov and in the absense of the first 2 mentioned, the event is expected to be a fight between Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins, and Moldovan TT Champ Aleksandr Pluchkin.
The draw:
Bradley Wiggins (GBR - Procycling)
Sergio Escobar (ESP - No Team)
Luke Roberts (AUS - Eurosport)
Vasili Kiryenka (BLR - No Team)
Zakkari Dempster (Aus - IrnBru)
Jens Mouris (Ned - British Airways)
Niki Terpstra (NED - IrnBru)
Steven Cummings (GBR - Wiggle)
Aleksandr Pluchkin (MOL - B&O)
Sebastien Ivars (FRA - Wikipedia)
Rob Hayles (GBR - Wiggle)
Mark Jamieson (Aus - IrnBru)
Ivan Kovalev (RUS - Virgin)
Alex Rasmussen (DEN - Virgin)
Ed Clancy (GBR - Procycling)
Hayden Godfrey (NZL - Gatorade)
Kilometre
Well, its up to Waghlon how this event works. I believe the plan is for 3 runs in TT mode, with the time for each rider taken after 1 kilometre. In a battle of milliseconds, the rider with the lowest cumulative time wins.
The qualifiers are:
Ivan Kovalev (RUS - Virgin)
Aleksandr Pluchkin (MOL - B&O)
Bradley Wiggins (GBR - Procycling)
Zakkari Dempster (Aus - IrnBru)
Ed Clancy (GBR - Procycling)
Alex Rasmussen (DEN - Virgin)
Rob Hayles (GBR - Wiggle)
Vasili Kiryenka (BLR - No Team)
Mark Jamieson (Aus - IrnBru)

Interesting, how can Markov be at the sprint but not at the Individual Pursuit? I have checked, there is only one Markov in the DB, and he wont be at E3 Prijs nor the Criterium International.
EDIT: Unless of course he didnt qualify which youre OP indicates he did.

Well the original post is wrong, dunno why I included him in that list. And if you knew what the answer was, why ask the question?

This race clashed with E3 Prijs and Criterium International. Theres just little motivation for me to race them so theyre rather late.

In the final's report for the Keirin, you said Hoy instead of Bos at one point |

Yes - another win for Bos in an event which in no way helps my ProTour survival.
He's just bagged himself another year in the team
