Windows Aero disappeared?

Hi,

I have Windows Home Premium on my laptop and up until this morning, I had Windows Aero on my laptop, e.g. I could personalise the colour and transparency of the borders of each window.

Now, all of a sudden, i don't have Windows Aero anymore, I just have Windows Basic, which is a boring blue colour. I have gone to Control Panel and clicked on "Change the color scheme", in an attempt to change the colours back, but it just has a few options saying:

Windows Vista Basic
Windows Standard
Windows Classic
Windows Contrast White
etc.

Windows Aero has vanished from that list. Anyone have a clue what I can do or why it can have vanished?

btw, I have clicked on pretty much everything in Appearance and Personalization but none of it has brung up the window giving me the choice of colours and transparency etc.

Same happend to me maybe a week ago. But back then, I could not use max resolution either. I dont really know what was wrong, but I fixed it by re-installing the driver for my screen/graphics card.

Restarted the laptop and it randomly re-appearedRolling Eyes

Good new I suppose, just weird it randomly went and randomly came back.

Strange :lol:

Maybe your graphics card forced the change if it was working hard displaying PCM or other graphically demanding app. Thats a logical guess btw, because I had a similar problem before when my card overheated and crashed the game I was playing.
