I'm sure non of you will remember, but I started a story, about a month ago, with Saunier Duval. However, due to reasons which remain un-presented to myself, I can no longer play a career. Every time I attempt to go forward a day, the game crashes, anyone know what it is? I un-installed completely including hidden files and all that jazz, but it still doesn't work. I'd delete more from my Pc, but I fear of messing it up. Yes, I'm a wimp like that.
Anyway, I'm not posting this in order to find a solution to my unsolved, tedious issue. My game still works in single mode, so here is what I was thinking: I really want to write a story. Call me sad, but I enjoy writing: report writing being my preferred forte. Taking into consideration that I cannot complete my desires in career mode, I was thinking that maybe I race all the ProTour events, in single race mode. In chronological order of course.
So, before going forth on my suggestion, I'm asking if you'd approve or not. I'd record all results and award the sufficient ProTour points to the deserving riders. Obviously, I'd remain in control of the same team throughout, I wouldn't want to allow anyone to accuse me of cheating, would I?
So let me know if you approve. I'll react accordingly to what you say and abandon all ideas of the sort, if my suggestions fall upon non-supporting ears.
Guiddo (i believe it was he) did an old tour de france in single race mode, and it was enjoyable to read, also the bonus of racing each race individually is that you can skip ones that your team wouldn't usually perform well in. (ie Deutschland Tour or similar). If you enjoy writing, go for it, people will read it, and if you write well others with gain pleasure from it.
Well that, so far, is what you'd call positive feedback. Thanks to you both.
So here's my program for it. I'll complete all UCI ProTour events with the additions of others: the three grand tours, Paris - Nice and Paris - Roubaix. Here's in what order the races shall be ran:
Now I need a team. I want one that can be fairly competitive in all races, ruling several teams out. The obvious choice is CSC or Quickstep, but I'm not fond of either. I think I'll go for Astana. It gives me a rider for each grand tour, as well as Gusev for the cobbled races and Vaitkus for sprints.
I use the PCM daily 08 DB, in single mode of course, or the races wouldn't work. I race on hard difficulty.
So not to use the same riders over and over again, I'll set the main riders season goals and races which they will and will not ride:
Team High Road
Edvald Boasson Hagen
Michael Barry
Bert Grabsch
Servais Knaven
Tony Martin
Kanstantsin Siutsou
Bradley Wiggins
Marcel Sieberg
Team Milram
Alberto Ongarato
Christian Knees
Peter Velits
Elia Rigotto
Enrico Poitschke
Andriy Grivko
Dominik Roels
Marco Velo

A day, no doubt, for the sprinters. The stage from Mawson Lakes into the town of Angaston lasts for 129Km, containing only one slight climb. The temperature was a mild 23 degrees and the atmosphere was set for the opening stage of the 2008 Tour Down Under.
Inside the first 10km, no fewer then 15 riders made repetitive attempts to jump clear of the peloton, in order for a little camera time.
By 20 km into the opening stage, four men had got away.
Bono, Hulsmans, Bertogliati and Bru.
The four was soon doubled, resulting in eight.
The four men, about to make the junction: Mengin, Velo, Portal and Cummings.
The inevitable happened though and one-by-one, the breakaway riders dropped and were swallowed up by the on-rushing peloton.
The last few riders being caught.
As we entered the last few kilometres, the teams of the sprinters searched for the best train.
Hushovd in the red circle, Freire in the Blue. Rast leads Hasselbacher who leads Vaitkus for Astana.
And with the blink of an eye, the sprint erupted. Rast had put Vaitkus in a great posistion, but Vaitkus wasn't feeling great. Hasselbacher tried to provide Tomas with a wheel to follow.
As they passed under the flame rouge, it was Hushovd in the driving seat. Freire was catching, but it looked to be in vein. By now, Vaitkus had been made to go for a long sprint as was tiring.
And sure enough, it was Hushovd who took the victory. Freire came in second and Vaitkus happily settled for third.
Nice idea, its always fun to read something different.
But I have two points of criticism.
1. Being a fan of one day races. I also would like to see Milan-Sanremo, La Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Giro di Lombardia (All 4 of them were ProTour race last year).
2. Not having to worry about fitness, I hoped you would pick an other team. Astana have many great riders (especially for stage races) and I have no doubt you will blow the competition away with them. So I would have liked to read about a team that provided you with a bigger challenge.

I forgot about those races, thanks for that and they will of course be added.
In relation to the fitness, this is what I thought would be the problem. Do not worry though. I will admit to being fairly average at this game. I only ever race in normal mode, so to counter the fitness issue, I shall race on hard. Trust me, I've raced one stage from the Tour de France on hard with Astana before. Valverde and Evans minced me. I looked like an utter failure. ops:
Yeah with the fitness issue, every rider is on the same fitness, whereas if you were playing career, the AI often trail off towards the end of a GT anyway and lose time, so i think it all evens out. Looking good so far. Remember to save screenshots at PNG type for better quality.
