hey
i recently installed pcm 08 on my pc, and unfortunately: i have a problem
the game works as it should do, but if i start de 3D-mode and the stage is loaded, all i get to see is de rider- and stage-information. I also should see the peloton and the road and such things, but actually all i see is a heaven blue screen with a bright sun at it. it looks like the camera is looking at the air above the riders all time. playing pcm 08 isn't that much fun like this...
does anybody know if there is a solution for my problem?
grtz

video: Intel 82845G/GL/GE/FE/GV Graphics Controller maybe this is the problem?
or is it my 512 RAM? i can't imagine, there are several people whose pc has this low RAM... |

My guess would be both. I don't think integrated graphics is going to work - you need a Geforce or ATI video card.
Minimum Ram is 1GB (which is what I have until this evening ) so you need to increase that as well.
I'd start with increasing your Ram and see how you do with 2gb ram. If it still won't work upgrade your graphics. |

Steve is right. Your computer just isn't good enough with the hardware it's got. |

but then i expect a crash or something when i start the 3D engine... now i just see the air above the riders..
and if i increase my RAM, is it possible to grab some RAM out of another pc and put it in my own one? or does every pc need his own RAM/RAM from his own trademark?

if you have slots and the right cards its possible to add RAM. but RAM itself doesn't make your computer faster though

It won't necessarily crash - it just won't render the graphics correctly.
Having done a small search, I wonder how old your motherboard is? Looks like that graphics controller is several years old. What processor do you have?
Yes you can get Ram from another PC (it doesn't have to be branded) BUT it must be the same type of Ram - you'll need to check your motherboard specifications to make sure you have the correct Ram.
I'm afraid you may be out of luck with your current PC. |

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40 Ghz RAM 512 MB
i just found out my laptop has also 512 RAM, and pcm 08 is working on this one (but very very sluggish).
So:
PC game isn't sluggish but doesn't display well (PC 2.40 Ghz 512MB RAM)
Laptop is sluggish, but does display well (LAPTOP 1.30 Ghz 512MB RAM)
Both videocards aren't very modern ones.
It's beginning to look like a mystery..

yes i know i should, but on several forums i have read people with worse pc's could play the game...
so my problem is a pure technical issue, and it isn't a bug or something...
i'll look for new/better gear!
thnx for all your help!
